WORK EXECUTION

RIGHT SIDE

Start from the right sleeve. Cast on 57 (63) 69 (75) stitches with needles No. 3.5 and knit in garter stitch.

After the 9th row, distribute the patterns in the following sequence:

11 (15) 19 (23) rows of lace pattern (needles No. 4),
7 rows of garter stitch (needles No. 3.5),
11 (15) 19 (23) rows of lace pattern (needles No. 4),
7 rows of garter stitch (needles No. 3.5),
17 (21) 25 (29) rows of relief pattern (needles No. 4),
7 rows of garter stitch (needles No. 3.5).

When 19 (21) 23 (25) rows have been knitted, at the end of the next 2 rows cast on 21 (27) 33 (39) stitches for the right side seam = 99 (117) 135 (153) stitches on the needles.

After knitting 9 (10) 11 (12) cm from the side edges, divide the stitches into back and front pieces and knit each piece separately.

BACK PIECE

For the neckline, bind off 3, 2, 1 stitches at the beginning of each knit row. When the last pattern is finished (see above for the sequence of patterns), bind off all stitches.

FRONT PIECE

To round the neckline, bind off 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 (8, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) 8, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 (10, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) stitches at the beginning of each purl row.

When the last pattern is finished, transfer the stitches to a spare thread.

LEFT SIDE

Knit as the right side, but in a mirrored fashion.

ASSEMBLY

Perform the side seams, sleeve seams, and center back seam.

NECKLINE BINDING

With circular needles No. 3, evenly pick up stitches from the wrong side, knit 1 knit row of purl stitches and 4 rows of knit stitches, then bind off the stitches from the right side.

LOWER BINDING

Pick up stitches from the wrong side with circular needles No. 4 evenly and knit as for the neckline binding.

LEFT BUTTON PLACKET

Along the front edge of the neckline binding, pick up 4–5 stitches with needles No. 3 from the right side, knit the stitches from the spare thread and pick up another 3–4 stitches along the front edge of the lower binding. Knit as described for the neckline binding.

RIGHT BUTTON PLACKET

Knit as for the left side, but with 3 buttonholes in the 1st row (= purl row), as in the photo. For each buttonhole, bind off 3 stitches without knitting them (pulling one through the other), and in the next row, cast on new stitches in place of the bound-off stitches.

CROCHET EDGING

With hook No. 2.5, crochet all edges of the item. To do this, knit: 1 half-double crochet, 3 chain stitches, 1 slip stitch back into the half-double crochet * 3 half-double crochets, 3 chain stitches, and 1 slip stitch back into the half-double crochet *, repeat from * to *, finish: 3 half-double crochets and 1 slip stitch.

Sew on the buttons. ‎ ‏ ‌
