Knitted sweater

We present a delicate hand-knitted jumper, made in size 46. The model features a refined style and comfortable fit. The design features include — 3/4 length sleeves, raglan line 24 cm, back length 58 cm.

The yarn used for knitting is Nako Calico (50% cotton, 50% premium acrylic), with a length of — 245 m per 100 g. The shade is — No. 11648. Exactly 4 skeins were used for the item.

Tools:

• The main fabric is knitted with needles No. 4.

• For the ribbing, needles No. 3 and No. 3.5 were used.

• The knitting density is — 20 stitches per 10 cm.

The model is knitted top-down raglan, with a neatly formed neckline, without a single seam, which gives the garment a special purity of lines and comfort in wear.

Knitting starts with casting on 108 + 1 stitches on needles No. 3. Then a 1×1 ribbing is worked — first 8 rows with needles No. 3, then 5 rows with needles No. 3.5 and 1 row with No. 4. After the ribbing, a transition to stockinette stitch is made with the division of stitches according to the pattern (see carousel). The neckline is knitted in short rows according to the pattern, with mandatory increases on both sides of the raglan line in every second row.

After closing in the round, the main pattern begins — lace fabric, which is formed from the center. Knitting continues until the desired length of the raglan line is reached — 23–24 cm.

Upon reaching the length of the raglan line 24 cm, the knitting is divided into sleeves and the main fabric.
Sleeve stitches are temporarily transferred to a spare yarn, while raglan stitches are included in the body. The body stitches are closed in the round, and to form underarms, an additional 8 stitches are cast on each side.

The main part of the jumper is knitted in the round to the desired length — in the sample it is 33 cm from the armhole. The finish of the bottom is done with needles No. 3:

• 15 rows of 1×1 ribbing

• 2 rows of hollow ribbing

• closing stitches with a needle to achieve a neat, factory edge.

After that, we move on to the sleeves. The stitches of the sleeve and underarm are transferred to the needles, and knitting continues in the round.
To form a beautiful silhouette, decreases of 2 stitches (one to the right, one to the left of the center stitch) are made every 10 rows.
Before starting the ribbing, the total number of stitches is reduced to 58.

The sleeve finishes in the same way as the bottom of the garment:

• 13 rows of 1×1 ribbing with needles No. 3

• 2 rows of hollow ribbing

• closing stitches with a needle

In the end, it remains to weave in the ends, perform wet-heat treatment, and — it's all ready!
