18 stitches and 25 rows = 10x10 cm stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles 17 stitches and 32 rows = 10x10 cm garter stitch on 4.5 mm needles Yoke On 4 mm needles, cast on 85 (96,106, 116, 127) sts, place a marker and join stitches in the round. Knit 8 rounds in garter stitch, switch to 4.5 mm needles and knit the next round in knit stitches. In the next round, make increases: 1 (0, 2, 0, 3) purl sts, *1 stitch from the yarn over purl, 4 purl sts, repeat from * around = 106 (120, 132, 145, 158) sts. After 2 (2, 2, 2½, 2½)” from the cast-on edge, repeat the increase round: 1 (0, 0, 1, 2) purl sts, *1 stitch from the yarn over purl, 3 purl sts, repeat from * around = 141 (160, 176, 193, 210) sts. After 4½ (4½, 5, 5, 5½)” from the cast-on edge, knit the increase round: 1 stitch from the yarn over (0, 0, 1 stitch from the yarn over, 0) *2 purl sts, 1 stitch from the yarn over, 3 purl sts, 1 stitch from the yarn over, repeat from * to the last 1 (0, 0, 0, 0) stitch of the round, 1 (0, 0, 0, 0) purl stitch = 198 (224, 246, 270, 294) sts. Continue knitting the yoke to a height of 5½ (5½, 6, 6, 6½)” and finish on a purl round. Then continue in stockinette stitch and after 7½ (8, 8½, 9, 9½)” divide the stitches: 30 (34, 38, 42, 45) knit sts, transfer the next 39 (44, 48, 52, 57) left sleeve stitches to a spare needle, cast on 11 (12, 14, 15, 17) new sts in their place, knit 60 (68, 75, 83, 90) knit sts for the front, and finish the round symmetrically.

A band with a braid is knitted, in every 7th row a shortened row (knit literally 3 stitches, before the start of the braid), in the center of the necklines of the back and front and on the shoulders 3 times shortened rows every other row, for rounding.

We pull out the stitches for knitting the front and back (so that they lay in knit stitches on the front), then in each "v" there are increases. To make an increase in the "v", you need to knit without knitting 2 knits together, but simply make yarn overs, due to yarn overs the fabric expands.

When pulling out stitches from the band to the front or back, it is best to place the band face up and fold it back to pull stitches from the stitches that come after the edge stitches, so that they will lie in knit stitches on the front.

In the red dress, there are increases in every "v" in 3 rows (6 "v"s in total), in the blue one, I made one (7 "v"s), the red one seems to me too flared, I really like how the blue one fits, next time I will try a middle option with increases in 2 rows of "v"s.

For knitting the pleats at the bottom from the yarn overs, knit a purl stitch, in the next knit row from the yarn overs from the sides purl stitches, from both sides, knit another purl and so on. The only thing is that in the first 2 rows, it is better to lay from yarn overs, in the following ones it is better to make yarn overs and knit the purls twisted.

Needles 3.5, the yarn I used for the blue dress lay perfectly, for the red one it turned out to be a bit thick (I will take a photo of the yarn I used for the red one tomorrow).

I am adding more details upon request

I used this pattern, only on the sides not 3 purls, but 2, so it turns out: edge stitch 2 purls, braid, 2 purls, edge stitch. In total, it comes to 15 stitches, i.e. we cast on 15 stitches and knit according to the pattern of the braid, in every 7th row the first 2 stitches (edge and 2 purls, before the braid) are knitted with a shortened row and so 7 times (in the purl row all stitches are purl). When we have knitted the 7th time, we knit 2 rows completely (counting knit and purl), then again a shortened row (this is our center front, we place a marker), then again 2 rows completely (knit and purl rows), a shortened row, this is how we knit the rounding in the center front, we do the same on the shoulders and in the center back, then we knit again after 6 rows.

When we joined our band, we should have 4 markers hanging on it - center front, center back, and 2 shoulders. We place 4 more markers - the level of our armholes, i.e. retreating equal distances from the shoulder markers, and between these markers, we cast on 28+1 (in the center)+28 stitches, sometimes you need to cast on 2 from one stitch, this is our front, we knit 4 rows in knit stitches, knitting braids on the sides. In the knit row, we begin to knit our "v", making increases for expansion (depending on the required expansion), let's take 2 increases, i.e. in the first two knit rows (purls are knitted purl), on the side of the center stitch we make 2 yarn overs (yarn over, center stitch, yarn over), in the remaining 3 knit rows we already knit the "v" according to the pattern - 2 together, yarn over, knit stitches, yarn over, 2 together. Between the "v"s I have 6 rows (counting both knit and purl rows). Tip - knit the "v" with classic stitches, then it lays more evenly.

We knit the back similarly to the front, knitting the armhole (straight), we join the knitting in the round and instead of braids, we knit in knit stitches.
