New Year's snow maiden costume

The "Snow Maiden" costume is knitted with needles.

You will need: Super Merino yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic, 280 m/100 g) - 250 g of blue color, Brilliant (49% wool, 51% acrylic, 380 m/100 g) - 50 g of white color, knitting needles No. 3, 6 small white pom-poms, a little white artificial fur, a plastic headband or a ready-made kokoshnik.

Attention! Use the white thread doubled.

Stockinette stitch: knit the right rows - knit stitches, wrong rows - purl stitches.

Lace row: *2 knit stitches together, 1 yarn over*, repeat *-* to the end of the row. This row is performed for the subsequent hem.

Jacquard pattern 1: knit according to scheme 1.

Jacquard pattern 2: knit according to scheme 2.

Diamond pattern: knit according to scheme 3.

Knitting density: 25 stitches x 37 rows of stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

Dress

Back: cast on 86 stitches with white thread doubled, knit 4 rows of stockinette stitch. Then perform a lace row and knit another 5 rows of stockinette stitch. In the next row, knit as follows: *3 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, 1 double decrease (= slip 2 stitches without knitting, knit 1 stitch and pull it through both slipped stitches), 1 yarn over*, repeat *-*, at the end of the row knit 2 knit stitches. Next, knit with jacquard pattern 1, distributing the repeats symmetrically. After completing the scheme, knit with blue thread in stockinette stitch for 18 cm. Then knit with the diamond pattern, distributing it symmetrically.

At a height of 4 cm from the start of the pattern for armhole shaping, close on each side in every 2nd row 1 time x 3 stitches, 1 time x 2 stitches, and 3 times x 1 stitch. At a height of 18 cm from the start of the diamond pattern for neckline shaping, close the central 30 stitches, then knit each part separately. For rounding the neckline from the inside, close in every 2nd row 1 time x 2 stitches and 1 time x 1 stitch. At a height of 19.5 cm from the start of the diamond pattern, close the remaining 17 stitches of the shoulder. Finish the other side symmetrically.

Front: knit similarly to the back, but at a height of 9.5 cm from the start of the diamond pattern, divide the fabric into 2 equal parts and then knit each part separately. At a height of 15 cm from the start of the diamond pattern, close from the neckline side in every 2nd row sequentially 8 stitches, 5 stitches, 3 stitches, 2 stitches, 1 stitch. At a height of 19.5 cm from the start of the diamond pattern, close the remaining 17 stitches of the shoulder.

Sleeves: first knit a short fluffy blue sleeve. For this, cast on 47 stitches, knit 3 rows of stockinette stitch, 1 lace row, 4 rows of stockinette stitch. In the next row, knit 2 stitches from each stitch = 94 stitches. Knit to a height of 5.5 cm from the increases. Then for shaping the sleeve cap, close on each side in every 2nd row sequentially 3 stitches, 2 stitches, 1 stitch. Knit the next 4 rows straight, then close 5 times x 1 stitch on each side in every 2nd row. Then close on each side in every 2nd row sequentially 2 stitches, 3 stitches, 4 stitches, 5 stitches, 6 stitches. Close the remaining stitches in one go. Fold the lower edge of the sleeve along the lace row, and sew it with a hidden stitch.

Along the inner edge of the sleeve, cast on 44 stitches with white thread, knit stockinette stitch straight for 7 cm. Then knit with jacquard pattern 2. After that, knit 4 rows of stockinette stitch, 1 lace row, 3 rows of stockinette stitch.

Assembly: fold the lower edges of the pieces along the lace row to the wrong side, and sew them with a hidden stitch. Perform side and shoulder seams. Sew the sleeve seams and set the sleeves into the armholes, making pleats. Cut the fur into strips about 1 cm wide and sew along the armhole and neckline lines. Knit 2 cords of chain stitches 32 cm long, sew pom-poms to the ends, and secure them at the neckline. Knit another chain of chain stitches, thread it through the lower edge of the hem into the holes of the pattern.

Kokoshnik: You can use a ready-made kokoshnik for edging or cut the desired shape from plastic, leaving 2.3 - 3 cm at the edges for a hem, and glue it to a ready-made hairband. Then knit 2 parts in stockinette stitch with blue thread, repeating the shape of the kokoshnik. On the parts, embroider with white thread according to schemes 4-6 using the "stitch in a stitch" technique. Sew the parts together. Crochet or knit the upper edge with white thread. Put the resulting cover on the ready-made kokoshnik and make a seam.
