Work description

Using 2.75 mm needles, cast on 144 sts. Join in the round, ensuring that the stitches are not twisted, and place a marker at the beginning of the round.

1st round: *k2 together, but do not remove them from the left needle, knit another stitch through the 1st stitch of them, drop them from the left needle, 1 purl; repeat from * to end of the round.

2nd round: *k2, 1 purl; repeat from * to end of the round.

Repeat these 2 rounds 5 times, = 10 rounds.

Switch to 4 mm needles, knit in lace pattern as described below, or according to the chart:

1st round: *dec.3, (yarn over, 1 knit) 5 times, yarn over, k4 together, 5 purl; repeat from * to end of the round.

2nd-4th rounds: *13 knits, 5 purls; repeat from * to end of the round.

6th-8th rounds: *13 knits, 5 purls; repeat from * to end of the round.

9th round: *yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, k4 together, 5 purl, dec.3, (yarn over, 1 knit) 4 times; repeat from * to end of the round.

10th-12th rounds: *4 knits, 5 purls, 9 knits; repeat from * to end of the round.

13th round: *yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, k4 together, 5 purl, dec.3, (yarn over, 1 knit) 4 times; repeat from * to end of the round.
