This is the first corner of the square.

Attention! Insert the hook "behind the petal" and "under the petal".

This is the second corner.

Repeat until you reach the 1st corner

Don't forget to alternate: "behind the petal" and "under the petal".

Pattern option from Vania Dias.
The combination of a volumetric floral motif with the "granny square"
is used for decorating the edge of a tablecloth or blanket in patchwork style; it can
be used to create a completely decorative pillowcase or napkin. This pattern looks good
as a border for a shawl or scarf, as well as for sleeve cuffs. Another possible application
is a yoke for a dress - sundress in a folk style or trim for the collar of a simple-cut jacket.
The pattern looks expressive, so it is highly undesirable to overload it with additional
details.
Pattern description:
The work begins with three chain stitches,
which are closed into a ring. On the resulting ring, 15 - 20 double crochets are made.
The resulting circle will be the core of the volumetric flower, and then three
levels of petals are crocheted.
The first level starts with four chain
stitches of 7 - 9 stitches, which are secured with slip stitches on each side of
the circle - the core of the flower. Petals are made on them from 9
double crochets with one slip stitch between them in the stitch of the previous
row's slip stitch.
Next, you will need to determine which side will be
the front and which will be the back. On the back side, four chain stitches
of 7 - 9 stitches are crocheted, which are attached with slip stitches in the same
places of the circle - core as for the first level of flowers. On them, the second level
of petals is made from 11 double crochets each, separated by a slip stitch secured to
the previous slip stitch.

The work on the third level is almost completely
a repeat of the work on the second, with one difference: the number of double
crochets increases by 2 - 3.
The volumetric rose is ready. It remains only
to weave it into the "granny square".

This is done with the same chain stitches,
which are secured in the same places as when making the levels of the petals and
again on the back side of the work. The number of stitches in the chain is 9 - 11,
but it is important to ensure that they do not "pull" the work. On each of them, two groups of four double crochets are made with two chain stitches between each group.

The thread used to crochet the volumetric rose and the first row
of the "granny square" is cut off. The work continues with yarn of a different color,
changing it in every row or every other row, following the usual "granny square"
scheme: group of four double crochets on the chain of the previous row's chain stitches
with two chain stitches between them; at the corners of the square, two groups of four
double crochets are crocheted with two chain stitches between them.
The number
of rows of the "granny square" is optional.
