Stylish mohair coat with puff sleeveshttp://klubok.work/1/125/8775/Klubok

We present to you the description of knitting another stunning masterpiece from the knitted clothing designer Svetlana Volkodav - a pink mohair coat. The simple straight style of the main details of the front and back is knitted in one piece up to the armhole line, but it can also be knitted in separate details. A partially integrated sleeve is formed — this is the armhole and elongated shoulder line, without shoulder slopes. The sleeves are knitted from the top, from the shoulder line, and closer to the end, before knitting the placket, the stitches are decreased — creating the effect of a "puff" sleeve or simply — a lantern sleeve.

You will need: thin yarn with mohair content in pink color, needles 40-45.

SIZE according to the pattern

The model can be started by knitting in one piece, but to finish the armholes and sleeves, later divide the number of stitches into separate details, and then finish each one independently. Alternatively, each detail can be knitted separately, after which knit seams can be done — horizontal on the sleeves and vertical along the sides.

To create volume while maintaining the lightness of the fabric, the author chose the beloved 2x2 ribbing, where some "stripes" of knit stitches are combined into 4 stitches. This allows for a simple Aran pattern — braids on 12 stitches, known as "cables". And so...

After discussing the techniques for creating your own masterpiece, let's move on to the initial, and probably one of the most important stages of the process — creating a gauge swatch and calculating the knitting density. No matter how much you might want to think that this stage is not particularly significant compared to the ability to read patterns and execute intricate Aran weaves, it's not the case. If you incorrectly calculate the knitting density, you could end up using much more yarn than necessary and taking more time to achieve your intended result. And the size might not fit. Therefore, don't be lazy, knit a gauge swatch and calculate your knitting density. If your density does not match the author's, adjust your values.

The approximate author's knitting density is 16-18 stitches and 18-29 rows.

You can use the pattern, or you can work a little more and create a pattern according to your own measurements.

Let's consider the option of knitting the model in one piece.

For this, cast on 250 – 252 stitches (author's number, adjusted according to knitting density) on 4.0 mm needles.

Knit 20-22 rows of 2x2 ribbing. It's better to start and finish the row with purl stitches.

Then distribute the stitches as follows: edge stitch, 2 purl stitches, 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, 4 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, repeat the pattern 8 times (diagram), 2 purl stitches, 4 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, and 2 knit stitches, edge stitch.

Continue working according to the pattern, completing 160 – 162 rows.

For further work, divide the number of stitches into separate details and finish each one independently.

On the stitches (70) of the right front piece, continue working according to the pattern, knitting a stylized ribbing on the first 14 stitches, and from the opposite edge for the armhole, add 7 times 2 stitches in each knit row. On the added stitches, perform the pattern according to the chart.

Start working according to the pattern from the 27th row.

To shape the neckline, knit 2 stitches together every 17th and 18th stitches. Repeat the decrease 14 times every 3rd row.

After completing 60-62 rows from the start of shaping the armholes, bind off the shoulder stitches. Leave the added armhole stitches open.

Continue working on the back stitches (108), making increases for the armhole shaping on both sides. After completing 60-62 rows from the start of shaping the armholes, bind off the central stitches, leaving the added armhole stitches open.

Join the open stitches of the front and back pieces with a horizontal "stitch to stitch" seam. Knit the left front piece symmetrically to the right.

Make a horizontal seam.

Along the armhole line for the sleeve, cast on the required number of stitches, knitting 2 stitches from every second stitch.

On the sleeve stitches, work the stylized ribbing. After knitting 40-42 rows, decrease the number of stitches by knitting 2 stitches together in the wide knit stripes.

Continue working with 2x2 ribbing. After completing 16-18 rows, bind off the stitches.

Make the side seams and sleeve seams.
