Shawl

Cast on 5 stitches, knit 2 rows in the front.

1st row (front side): 2 knit, yarn over, marker, 1 knit, yarn over, 2 knit.
2nd row (back side): knit stitches.
3rd row (front side): 2 knit, yarn over, knit to marker, yarn over, marker, 1 knit, yarn over, knit to the last 2 stitches, yarn over, 2 knit.
Knit, alternating rows 2 and 3 until the shawl reaches the desired size.
In the picture, the shawl is 117 cm wide (excluding the border).
Border.
1st row (back side): knit stitches.
2nd row (front side): 2 knit, yarn over, *1 knit, 1 purl* - repeat *--* to marker, yarn over, marker, 1 knit, yarn over, *1 knit, 1 purl* - repeat *--* to the last 2 stitches, yarn over, 2 knit.
3rd row (back side): 2 knit, knit stitches as knit, purl stitches as purl to marker, marker, 1 knit, knit stitches as knit, purl stitches as purl to the last 2 stitches, 2 knit.
Repeat alternating rows 2 and 3 for another 2.5 cm.
Rows with increases:
1st row (back side): 2 knit, knit 2 knit (normally and through the back loop) from each stitch to marker, marker, 1 knit, knit 2 knit (normally and through the back loop) from each stitch to the last 2 stitches, 2 knit.
2nd row (front side): 2 knit, yarn over, ribbing - *2 knit, 2 purl* to marker, yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, ribbing - *2 knit, 2 purl* to the last 2 stitches, yarn over, 2 knit.
3rd row (back side): 2 knit, knit stitches as knit, purl stitches as purl to marker, marker, 1 knit, knit stitches as knit, purl stitches as purl to the last 2 stitches, 2 knit.
Repeat alternating rows 2 and 3 for another 10 cm, ending with a knit row.
Cast off stitches loosely in the purl row as follows - *2 stitches together purl*, transfer the knitted stitch back from right to left needle and repeat *--* until the end of the row..
