Svetlana Tomina's Model, Gomel
You will need: 500g of burgundy yarn (100% cotton, 170 m x 50 g) for cords, floral and leaf motifs, and 200g (100% cotton, 250 m x 50 g) for the mesh; hooks No. 1, No. 1.5; matching thread and a needle for sewing.
The model is made in the technique of lace crochet. Make preliminary sketches of the placement of motifs and cords on the pattern, choose the most suitable option and follow it when forming the composition. This will help you complete the work without unnecessary labor and adjustments. First, make a working pattern, adjusting it to your measurements. Crochet the necessary length of cord caterpillars from thicker yarn.
When finishing the neckline and laying out the curls, securely attach the cords to the pattern, tacking them with frequent stitches, and at the junctions - secure with a needle and matching thread. Make the necessary number of floral motifs according to the basic crochet scheme (13). Vary their size by reducing the number of rows in the middle of the motif.
According to scheme 13a, crochet a three-leaf motif, connecting its components during the last row. Once finished, edge the trefoil with a "crab stitch." Arrange the motifs according to your own sketch (Fig. 13) and securely attach them to the pattern.
Fill the space between the motifs with a mesh made of fine yarn. The back and front of this piece are made in a unified style, repeating the specified pattern. Similarly, form the composition of the sleeves and execute them according to this description. After the finished piece is removed from the pattern, steam it from the wrong side.
