Knitting pattern for a napkin. This pattern can also be used to knit a shawl

Designer: Herbert Niebling
You will need: for the napkin 40 g of yarn and 1.5 mm needles,
for the shawl - 4 mm needles, 100% wool yarn (425 m / 100 g)
Size: 52 x 52 cm

Materials and tools:
40 g of MEZ-Glanz yarn No. 60
Two sets of circular needles No. 1.25 – length 21 cm
Hook No. 0.6 mm or 0.75 mm

Description:

Cast on 8 stitches, join into a circle.
Distribute the stitches on 4 needles and knit 4 rows in knit stitches.
Then knit according to pattern A – repeat the repeat 4 times. From the three adjacent yarn overs, knit 10 stitches each (alternate between knit and purl stitches).

After row 117, knit 4 rows in knit stitches. In the first knit row, 8 times after every 65 stitches, knit one twisted knit stitch from the yarn over between the stitches of the previous row. After these increases, there will be 532 stitches on the needles.

Make the scallops according to pattern B. On each side, repeat the pattern 7 times, then for the corner, work the pattern to the left of the bold line (in the corners, 6 motifs of leaves – see photo).

After the 34th row (knit), bind off the stitches with a hook, making 12 chain stitches between the double crochets without yarn overs.
