I don't remember where I found this beauty – I honestly searched for the original source for about two hours… I only remember that it is from a magazine from 1954. (I found it eventually, completely by accident. It turned out to be my favorite Ravelry...) An antique thing! I am attaching the original photo. Girls, if you know where this is from, please send me the link, I will add it, as my soul is restless. I did the translation and the scheme myself; the original was a verbal description. My friends, enjoy it in good health. OOPS! the first photo is upside down...

I fell in love with this Chevalier immediately and irrevocably. And here is my embodiment! I knitted with cotton yarn of unknown origin because I was in a rush and didn't want to run to the store. I had to starch it later. Not everything turned out right the first time; at first, the collar stood like a cuirass, so I added more starch. It turned out that 0.5 tsp for a glass of water was enough.

So. Cast on 153 stitches.
Knit 3 rows in ribbing 1x1, then knit according to the pattern. The repeat is highlighted in red; in some rows, it is repeated 14 times, and in others – 13 times. The edge stitches are also included in the pattern!
The last row is knitted in purl stitches, then the knitting is turned, and the stitches are closed with a hook in groups of 3 stitches, excluding the initial and final groups, where you need to knit 4 stitches together. Between groups, cast on 8-10 chain stitches. Between the points, cast on 3 chain stitches so that the collar does not "flap".
