We will knit a sample with 30 stitches using the stocking stitch. Of these, 20 stitches will go for the neck and 10 for the shoulder. We will distribute the neck stitches as follows: once remove 5 stitches, twice remove 3 stitches, three times remove 2 stitches and three times remove 1 stitch (5, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1).
Let's go Very Happy
Row 1 (front) do not knit 5 stitches to the end (5, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1). (Fig.1), turn the work, making a yarn over with the working yarn on the left needle (Fig.2), knit the 2nd purl row (knit the first stitch purlwise, without slipping it off (Fig.3). Then all purl rows will be knitted the same way).
Row 3 (front) do not knit 8 stitches to the end (5+3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1), turn the work (Fig.4).
Row 5 (front) do not knit 11 stitches to the end (5+3+3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1).
Row 7 (front) do not knit 13 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1).
Row 9 (front) do not knit 15 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2+2, 2, 1, 1, 1).
Row 11 (front) do not knit 17 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2+2+2, 1, 1, 1).
Row 13 (front) do not knit 18 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2+2+2+1, 1, 1).
Row 15 (front) do not knit 19 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2+2+2+1+1, 1).
Row 17 (front) do not knit 20 stitches to the end (5+3+3+2+2+2+1+1+1).
Row 19 (front) knit completely, knitting the first stitch of the next section (the transition between rows) with the yarn over from the previous section Shocked (Fig.5, 6).
This results in a smooth row (Fig. 7). In the next purl row, we either bind off these 20 stitches as usual with needles (Fig.8, 9), or use a needle with a knitted seam, or knit with an additional yarn to later use the live stitches.
