You will need: 1150 g of mustard yarn Filatura di Crosa ZARA PLUS (100% extra merino wool, 70 m/50 g), knitting needles No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6

 

Size: 36/38

Main pattern: knit according to chart 1, purl stitches in the purl rows as per the pattern. Relief pattern: knit according to chart 2, purl stitches in the purl rows as per the pattern.

Knitting density. Ribbing 2/2: 18 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm; main pattern: 18 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm; relief pattern: 18 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: using needles No. 4, cast on 82 sts with Italian cast-on, switch to needles No. 5 and knit in ribbing 2/2. After 20 cm from the beginning of the work, switch to needles No. 6, increasing by 1 st = 83 sts, and knit in the main pattern. After 62 cm from the beginning of the work, bind off 4 sts for armholes on both sides and in every 2nd row bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 1 st. (= 67 sts). After 20 cm from the beginning of the armhole, bind off the middle 41 sts for the neckline and finish both sides separately. To round off, bind off on the inside in every 2nd row 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st. After 85 cm from the beginning of the work, bind off the remaining 7 sts.

Front: knit the same as the back but with a deeper neckline. To do this, after 11 cm from the beginning of the armhole, bind off the middle 13 sts and in every 2nd row bind off 1 x 4 sts, 2 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 8 x 1 st.

Sleeves: using needles No. 4, cast on 42 sts with Italian cast-on, switch to needles No. 5 and knit in ribbing 2/2. After 40 cm from the beginning of the work, switch to needles No. 6, evenly increasing by 23 sts (= 65 sts), and knit in the main pattern. After 62 cm from the beginning of the work, bind off 4 sts for the sleeve cap on both sides and in every 2nd row bind off 1 x 3 sts, 8 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 3 sts. After 75 cm from the beginning of the work, bind off the remaining 13 sts.

Assembly: sew the shoulder seams; for the collar, using circular needles No. 6, cast on 136 sts along the neckline and knit back and forth in the relief pattern, making a slit at the back. After 49 cm from the beginning of the collar, knit 4 rows in ribbing 1/1 and bind off the stitches. Sew the collar seam at the back. Set in the sleeves, sew the side seams and the sleeve seams.
