Quite large braids of stockinette and pearl pattern in the center and on the sleeves. A luxurious collar completes this wonderful look.

Sizes: 36 (38/40) 42

You will need: 750 (800) 850 g of blue Alpha yarn (70% acrylic, 30% sheep wool, 60 m/50 g); needles No. 7 and No. 8.

Fine pearl pattern: 1 knit, 1 purl alternately, shifting by 1 stitch in each row.

Ribbing, needles No. 7: alternately 2 knit, 2 purl.

Stockinette stitch, needles No. 8: knit rows – knit stitches, purl rows – purl stitches.

Knitting density: Ribbing: 16 stitches and 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm; stockinette stitch: 12 stitches and 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Braid of 24 stitches (2 purl on each side): Row 1: 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern, 12 knit, 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern. Row 2: 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern, 12 purl, 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern. Rows 3 – 12: as rows 1 and 2. Row 13: leave 6 stitches on a hold needle behind work, 6 knit, knit 6 stitches from the hold needle in fine pearl pattern, leave 6 stitches on a hold needle in front of work. 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern, knit 6 stitches from the hold needle knit. Row 14: 6 purl, 12 stitches of fine pearl pattern, 6 purl. Row 15: 6 knit, 12 stitches of fine pearl pattern, 6 knit. Rows 16 – 26: as rows 14 and 15. Row 27: leave 6 stitches on a hold needle behind work, 6 stitches of fine pearl pattern, knit stitches from the hold needle knit, leave 6 stitches on a hold needle in front of work, 6 knit, knit 6 stitches from the hold needle in fine pearl pattern. Row 28: as row 2. Repeat from row 1 to row 28.

Special decreases: from the right side edge, 1 knit, knit 2 stitches together, then knit in stockinette, from the left side slip 1 stitch as knit, 1 knit and pull it through the slipped stitch, 1 knit, edge.

Back: cast on 78 (82) 86 stitches and knit 10 cm in ribbing. Then knit in stockinette stitch, decreasing evenly 20 stitches in the 1st row = 58 (62) 66 stitches. For shaping, decrease with special decreases on both sides every 6th row 6 x 1 stitch = 46 (50) 54 stitches. Then increase on both sides every 8th row 2 x 1 stitch and after the next 6 rows another 1 x 1 stitch = 52 (56) 60 stitches. After 50 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off for armholes 2 stitches on both sides and decrease with special decreases every 2nd row 4 (5) 6 x 1 stitch = 40 (42) 44 stitches. After 70 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off for shoulder slopes on both sides every 2nd row 1 x 5 and 1 x 4 (2 x 5) 1 x 6 and 1 x 5 stitches. After 72 cm from the cast-on edge, place the remaining 22 stitches on hold.

Front: cast on 76 (80) 84 stitches and knit in ribbing, with the middle 24 stitches in braid and 2 purl on both sides of the braid. After 10 cm from the cast-on edge, continue knitting stitches on both sides of the braid and 2 purl in stockinette stitch, decreasing evenly 10 stitches in the 1st row = 66 (70) 74 stitches. Shape as for the back = 60 (64) 68 stitches. After 40 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the middle 4 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately. For rounding, decrease with special decreases from the inner edge every 2nd row 13 x 1 stitch. Work armholes and shoulder slopes as for the back. Total height = 72 cm.

Sleeves: cast on 44 stitches and knit in ribbing, with the middle 24 stitches in braid and 2 purl on both sides of the braid. After 10 cm from the cast-on edge, continue knitting stitches on both sides of the braid and 2 purl in stockinette stitch. For sleeve slopes, increase from ribbing on both sides 3 x (every 12th row 4 x) in every 10th row 5 x 1 stitch = 50 (52) 54 stitches. After 46 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off for the cap on both sides 2 stitches and decrease with special decreases every 2nd row 11 x 1 stitch. After 61 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off 24 (26) 28 stitches.

Assembly: perform shoulder and side seams. Set in sleeves, finish sleeve seams. For the collar, evenly pick up 98 stitches around the neckline and add the 22 stitches from the back = 120 stitches. Knit in rounds in ribbing. After 24 cm, bind off stitches according to pattern.
