You will need: 1900 g of lilac yarn MONDIAL MERINO MAXI (50% merino wool, 50% acrylic, 60 m/100g); straight needles No. 6 and No. 8; auxiliary needle; 6 buttons; satin belt 5 cm wide with a metal buckle; darning needle.

Double ribbing: cast on half of the required stitches with contrasting yarn;

Row 1: with working yarn, knit *1 knit, 1 yarn over*, repeat from * to *;

Row 2: *knit yarn over, slip 1 st as purl, do not knit, yarn in front*, repeat from * to *;

Row 3 and subsequent rows: *1 knit, slip 1 st as purl, yarn in front*, repeat from * to *; in the finished piece, unravel the contrasting yarn.

Ribbing 2/2: alternately 2 knit, 2 purl.

Stockinette stitch: knit rows are knit stitches, purl rows are purl stitches.

Main pattern (number of stitches is a multiple of 8 + 1): knit according to the chart. Repeat from row 1 to row 12.

Gauge. Main pattern, needles No. 8: 13.5 sts and 14.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm; ribbing 2/2, needles No. 8: 13 sts and 13.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: cast on 69 sts on needles No. 8 and knit 4 rows (1.5 cm) in double ribbing. Then knit in the main pattern, evenly increasing in the 1st row by 1 x 4 sts and then decreasing on both sides in every 8th row by 8 x 1 st. After 74 cm from the ribbing, knit all stitches in ribbing 2/2, starting with 2 knit sts and evenly decreasing in the 1st row by 1 x 3 sts, while for the raglan slopes decrease on both sides after the first 4 and before the last 4 stitches in every 4th row by 1 x 1 st and in every 8th row by 3 x 4 sts. After 21 cm from the beginning of the raglan slopes, set aside the remaining 22 sts.

 

Coat with pockets knitting pattern

Right front: cast on 41 sts on needles No. 8 and knit ribbing as for the back. Then knit 3 sts in double ribbing, 42 in the main pattern, evenly increasing in the 1st row by 1 x 4 sts and then decreasing on the left in every 8th row by 8 x 1 st. After 74 cm from the ribbing, knit ribbing 2/2, knitting the first 3 sts in double ribbing, while performing the left raglan slope as for the back. After 21 cm from the beginning of the raglan slope, set aside the remaining 21 sts.

Left front: knit symmetrically.

Sleeves
: cast on 34 sts on needles No. 6 and knit 2 rows in double ribbing, 8 rows in ribbing 2/2 and 2 rows in double ribbing (total 7 cm). Switch to needles No. 8 and knit in the main pattern, evenly increasing in the 1st row by 1 x 15 sts. After 39 cm from the ribbing, knit all stitches in ribbing 2/2 (starting with 2 knit sts), evenly decreasing in the 1st row by 1 x 3 sts, while performing raglan slopes as for the back. After 22 cm from the beginning of the raglan slopes, set aside the remaining 14 sts.

Pockets
: cast on 28 sts on needles No. 8 and knit in the main pattern, knitting 1 edge st on both sides. After 16 cm from the cast-on edge, knit 4 cm in ribbing 2/2 on all stitches, evenly decreasing in the 1st row by 1 x 2 sts; then knit 4 rows in double ribbing and bind off all stitches with a knitted seam. Make 2 pockets.

Belt loops:
cast on 5 sts on needles No. 8 and knit in double ribbing, bind off all stitches after 12 cm. Make 2 loops.

Assembling the coat: sew the raglan seams; for the collar, transfer the set-aside stitches from the back, sleeves, and fronts to needles No. 6 and knit in ribbing 2/2, knitting 3 edge stitches in double ribbing on both sides. After 5 cm from the beginning of the collar, switch to needles No. 8, after 23 cm from the beginning of the collar, knit 6 rows in double ribbing and bind off all stitches with a knitted seam. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams. Attach the pockets, belt loops, and buttons (see photo).
