The lace jumper is made from 100% cotton yarn. Knitted top-down, in the round. Knitted without seams.
Yardage 125m/50g, needles size 3. Used 450g.
The jumper is worked from top to bottom.
When working the lace pattern for the front and back, in some rows the markers are shifted towards the outer side of the pattern.
When working the lace pattern for the sleeves, repeat the 20-row pattern across the entire length of the sleeve.
Beginning of knitting:
Note: markers are placed for lace patterns and raglan. Stitches are increased in the stocking stitch area.
Using long circular needles, cast on 100 (104, 104, 108, 112, 116, 116, 120, 120) stitches.
Join the stitches in a round.
Knit 1 round in purl stitches.
Forming the raglan:
Setup round: *place raglan marker, 1 knit stitch, place sleeve pattern marker, 17 knit stitches, place sleeve pattern marker, 1 knit stitch, place raglan marker, 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 12) knit stitches, place front and back pattern marker, 17 knit stitches, place front and back pattern marker, 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 12) knit stitches; repeat from * one more time – on the needles 31 (33, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 41) stitches for the front and back and 19 stitches for each sleeve.
1st increase round: *marker, 1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch left lifted, marker, knit 1st row of the sleeve pattern, marker, increase 1 stitch right lifted, 1 knit stitch, marker, 1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch left lifted, knit stitches to marker, marker, knit 1st row of the front and back pattern, marker, knit stitches to 1 stitch before the next marker, increase 1 stitch right lifted, 1 knit stitch; repeat from * one more time – on the needles 108 (112, 112, 116, 120, 124, 124, 128, 128) stitches.
Next round: *marker, knit stitches to marker, marker, knit next row of the sleeve pattern, marker, knit stitches to next marker of the front and back pattern, marker, knit next row of the front and back pattern, marker, knit stitches to next marker; repeat from * one more time.
Note: continue to knit patterns between markers in the established order, knitting stitches outside the patterns in stocking stitch and moving the markers to the sides of the pattern in the 12th and 48th rows, as indicated in the chart. When the front and back pattern is fully completed, knit rows 48-59 once more.
**Move the markers and knit rows 48-71, then knit rows 48-59 once.
Repeat from ** 0 (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1) more times.
Move the markers one more time, then repeat rows 48-71.
Increase round for raglan: *marker, 1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch left lifted, knit to 1 stitch before the next raglan marker, increase 1 stitch right lifted, 1 knit stitch; repeat from * 3 more times – 8 stitches increased.
Continue to knit in the established order, repeating raglan increases every 2nd row for another 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 10) times, then every 4th row a total of 5 times, then every 2nd row 6 (7, 6, 8, 9, 11, 11, 11, 12) times – on the needles 244 (256, 276, 296, 316, 324, 336, 352) stitches: 67 (71, 71, 77, 83, 89, 91, 95, 99) stitches for front and back and 55 (57, 57, 61, 65, 69, 71, 73, 77) stitches for each sleeve.
Increase round for front and back: *marker, knit to next raglan marker, marker, 1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch left lifted, knit to 1 stitch before the next raglan marker, increase 1 stitch right lifted, 1 knit stitch; repeat from * one more time – 4 stitches increased.
Continue to knit in the established order, repeating increases for front and back every 2nd row another 0 (0, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4) times – on the needles 248 (260, 268, 288, 308, 328, 340, 356, 372) stitches: 69 (73, 77, 83, 89, 95, 99, 105, 109) stitches for front and back and 55 (57, 57, 61, 65, 69, 71, 73, 77) stitches for each sleeve.
Separating the sleeves:
Round for separation: marker, move the next 55 (57, 57, 61, 65, 69, 71, 73, 77) stitches of the sleeve to a stitch holder (including the pattern markers), remove the raglan marker, cast on 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches, place a side marker, cast on 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches, knit to the next raglan marker, remove the raglan marker, move the next 55 (57, 57, 61, 65, 69, 71, 73, 77) stitches of the sleeve to a stitch holder (including the pattern markers), remove the raglan marker, cast on 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches, place a side marker, cast on 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches, knit to the end of the round, remove the beginning of round marker, knit stitches to the next side marker, this will be the new beginning of the round – on the needles 150 (166, 182, 198, 210, 226, 242, 258, 270) stitches.
Knit straight for 23 (21, 25, 25, 29, 29, 29, 33, 33) rounds.
Increase round: *1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch left lifted, knit to 1 stitch before the next side marker, increase 1 stitch right lifted, 1 knit stitch, marker; repeat from * one more time – 4 stitches increased.
Repeat these increases every 4th round another 17 (17, 18, 17, 18, 17, 19, 17, 16) times, then knit straight for 3 rounds – on the needles 222 (238, 258, 270, 286, 298, 322, 330, 338) stitches.
Knit 2 rounds in stocking stitch, removing all markers except the beginning of round marker.
Knit 1 round in purl stitches.
Knit 1 round in knit stitches.
Repeat the last two rounds another 6 (8, 6, 8, 6, 8, 6, 8, 10) times or until the desired length is reached, ending with a knit round.
Bind off all stitches loosely as purl stitches.
Sleeves:
Using short circular needles on the right side, starting from the center of the underarm, pick up and knit 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches along the cast-on edge to the sleeve stitches, knit 55 (57, 57, 61, 65, 69, 71, 73, 77) sleeve stitches from the holder, pick up and knit 3 (5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13) stitches along the cast-on edge to the center of the underarm – on the needles 61 (67, 71, 77, 81, 87, 93, 97, 103) stitches.
Place a marker and join the stitches in a round.
Knitting the stitches in the established order (lace pattern and stocking stitch), perform the shaping of the sleeve:
Knit straight for 2 (4, 0, 3, 10, 10, 0, 1, 16) rounds.
Decrease round: 1 knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together knitwise leaning right, knit to the last 2 stitches, knit 2 stitches together knitwise leaning left.
Repeat these decreases every 20th (12th, 12th, 9th, 8th, 6th, 6th, 5th, 4th) round another 5 (8, 8, 11, 11, 14, 15, 17, 19) times – on the needles 49 (49, 53, 53, 57, 57, 61, 61, 63) stitches.
Knit 1 round straight, or knit until 2.5 cm shorter than the desired sleeve length.
Next round: knit stitches to the marker, remove the marker, 1 knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together knitwise leaning right, 1 knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together knitwise leaning left, knit stitches to the end of the round – on the needles 47 (47, 51, 51, 55, 55, 59, 59, 61) stitches.
Knit 1 round in purl stitches.
Knit 1 round in knit stitches.
Repeat the last two rounds until the height of the garter stitch section reaches 2.5 cm or another desired measurement.
Bind off all stitches loosely as purl stitches.
Repeat for the second sleeve.
Finishing:
Weave in the ends and steam block the lace jumper according to the yarn package instructions.
