Yoke knitting pattern

Sizes: S (M, L).
The photo shows size M with a 20 cm ease.

Materials:

• 5 (5.5, 6) skeins of yarn MONDIAL Dolce Mohair (60% kid mohair, 40% acrylic; 150m/50g).

• 4 mm circular needles for the neckline and sleeve ribbing.

• 5 mm circular needles for the body.

• Crochet hook 3 mm for the popcorn stitch.

• Stitch markers.

• Yarn needle.

• Leftover yarn.

Gauge:
19 sts x 25 rows = 10x10 cm, stockinette stitch, 5 mm needles, after blocking.

Special abbreviations:

PM – place a marker on the left needle.
SM – slip the marker from the left needle to the right.
P1P – increase by 1 knit stitch with a right-leaning from a wrap.
P1L – increase by 1 knit stitch with a left-leaning from a wrap.
DP – double stitch.
DP-knit – knit the double stitch through both legs.
DP-purl – purl the double stitch through both legs.

German Short Rows (German Short Rows):

1 – (LS): knit to the indicated stitch, turn the work to the purl side.

2 – (IS): yarn in front, slip the first stitch as if to purl, bring the yarn over to the back of the needle, pull tight to form two loops (legs) on one stitch (double stitch – DP). Purl to the indicated stitch, turn the work to the knit side.

3 – (LS): yarn in front, slip the first stitch as if to purl, bring the yarn back over the needle, pull tight to form a double stitch, knit the next stitch as indicated.

4 – When knitting the DP, count it as one stitch; in knit rows knit through both legs (DP-knit), in purl rows purl through both legs (DP-purl).

Popcorn stitch (Popcorn stitch with crochet hook):

Insert the crochet hook under the front loop of the stitch and make 2 chain stitches.

Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front, insert the hook into the same knit stitch, pull the yarn through this stitch, repeat from * another 2 times. There should be 7 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front again and pull the yarn through all 7 loops on the hook.

Make a chain stitch and transfer the resulting stitch to the right needle.

Note:

The pullover is worked in the round from the top down.
The back neckline and yoke are shaped with short rows. The recommended ease is 15–20 cm.

NECKLINE:

Circular rounds begin at the center back.

Using 4 mm needles, cast on 112 (120, 128) stitches, join to form a circle and place a marker to begin the round.

Next round: [2 knit, 2 purl] to the end.
Repeat the previous round 2 more times.
Switch to 5 mm needles. Knit one round.

Note: to close holes at each corner of the picked-up edge, you need to pick up an extra stitch, then decrease these stitches in the next round.
