KNITTING TECHNIQUES

2 together knitwise with a right-leaning decrease - knit 2 stitches together as for a classic knit stitch.

2 together knitwise with a left-leaning decrease - slip 2 stitches one at a time as classic knit stitches, return them to the left needle twisted, knit 2 together through the back loop. This technique can also be done by the method of yarn over (slip 1 stitch as knit, without knitting, 1 knit, place the slipped stitch over it). However, the first method gives a slightly neater result.

2 together purlwise with a right-leaning decrease - knit 2 stitches together purlwise.

2 together purlwise with a left-leaning decrease - slip 2 stitches one at a time, return them to the left needle twisted, knit 2 together purlwise through the back loop.

1 knit from a yarn over with a left-leaning decrease: insert the left needle under the yarn over between the stitches, moving the needle away from you, and knit the stitch knitwise through the back loop.

Bobble - knit 6 stitches from 1 stitch – (1 purl, 1 knit through the back loop) 3 times, slip the stitch from the left needle, place the first 5 stitches over the last one.

Translator's note: in the original description, stitches for the underarms are not cast on, but in part of the sizes when working with the sleeves, 4–6 stitches are added. It seems to me that at least for these sizes, a few stitches need to be added for the underarms, which will later need to be decreased to match the number of stitches in the rapport of the lower lace pattern.

Body

Work stockinette stitch until the length of the item reaches 23 (23, 23.5, 24, [24, 25, 25], 25.5, 25.5, 26.5, [26.5, 28, 28], 29) cm from the separation of the body and sleeves or 7.5 cm shorter than the desired length.

Work 12 rows according to pattern 5.

Placket for the fronts and neckline

On the right side of the work, starting from the right front, pick up and knit stitches for the placket as follows: along the right front, pick up 2 stitches from every 3 rows, along the cast-on edge of the yoke, pick up 1 stitch from each cast-on stitch, along the left front, pick up 2 stitches from every 3 rows, and add 1 stitch (if needed) to get an odd number of stitches.

Starting and ending with a purl row, work 2 cm of ribbing:
