UNUSUAL SCARF-CAPE

I really liked the model of the shawl-scarf. Such a scarf can be a very necessary item in your wardrobe.

To knit such a beautiful, original scarf, you will need:

- 700g of pure sheep wool

- straight knitting needles No. 5.5

As always, we knit a control sample - 15-20cm of the main pattern - steam it, dry it and measure it. Only after this, make a calculation for the product – the number of stitches and rows.

Legend:

Garter stitch (GS) - knit all rows with purl stitches.

Ribbing 2x2 1st row - 2 knit, 2 purl

2nd row - 2 purl, 2 knit

Main pattern:

1 edge stitch, 20 purl stitches, pattern 1, 5 purl stitches, pattern 2, 5 purl stitches, pattern 1, 5 purl stitches, pattern 2, 5 purl stitches, pattern 1, 1 edge stitch.

Width of the scarf - 45 cm. Decrease or increase stitches to achieve the required width should be done in sections of garter stitch.

Main knitting scheme:

1. Cast on 102 stitches and knit 55 cm in garter stitch. Then knit the main pattern for 85 cm, ribbing 2x2 for 30 cm, and garter stitch for 25 cm. Bind off all stitches in one row.

2. Cast on 102 stitches again and knit a piece 30 cm long in ribbing 2x2. Sew the ribbing to the scarf. This creates a hole through which the other end of the scarf is pulled.

All patterns show only the right-side rows.

10 st. cross left: 5 st. place on a spare needle in front of the work, then knit the next 5 st. knit, then knit the 5 st. from the spare needle.



10 st. cross right: 5 st. place on a spare needle behind the work, then knit the next 5 st. knit, then knit the 5 st. from the spare needle.



8 st. cross right: 4 st. place on a spare needle behind the work, then knit the next 4 st. knit, then knit the 4 st. from the spare needle.

10 st. cross left: 5 st. place on a spare needle in front of the work, then knit the next 5 st. knit, then knit the 5 st. from the spare needle.
