Yarn A, cast on 50 stitches
Row 1 - 25 knit, marker, 25 knit
Row 2 - * 1 knit, add 1 stitch (in any way), 23 knit, add 1 stitch, 1 knit*, repeat twice = 54 stitches
Row 3 and all odd rows - all knit
Row 4 - * 1 knit, add 1 stitch, 25 knit, add 1 stitch, 1 knit*, repeat twice = 58 stitches
Row 6 - * 1 knit, add 1 stitch, 27 knit, add 1 stitch, 1 knit*, repeat twice = 62 stitches
Row 8 - * 1 knit, add 1 stitch, 29 knit, add 1 stitch, 1 knit*, repeat twice = 66 stitches
Row 10 - *1 knit, add 1 stitch, 31 knit, add 1 stitch, 1 knit*, repeat twice = 70 stitches

Row 2 - 33 purl, place marker, 9 purl, place marker, 33 purl
Row 3 - 26 knit, 2 together knit leaning left twice, 3 together leaning left, 9 knit, 1 slip, 2 together knit and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitches (i.e., 3 together) leaning right, 2 together knit leaning right twice, 26 knit = 67 stitches.
(in subsequent rows repeat the leaning sequence when decreasing)
Row 4 - all purl
Row 5 - 22 knit, 2 together knit twice, 3 together knit, 9 knit, 3 together knit, 2 together knit twice, 22 knit = 59 stitches
Row 6 - all purl
Row 7 - 34 knit, 2 together knit (and turn the work to the purl side)
Row 8 - (purl side) slip the first stitch purlwise, 9 purl, 2 together purl
Row 9 - slip 1, 9 knit, 2 together knit leaning left
Row 10 - slip 1, 9 purl, 2 together purl
Rows 11-26 - knit as rows 9 and 10 = 39 stitches
Row 27 - slip 1, 9 knit, 2 together knit (do not turn the work, continue knitting to the end of the row), 13 knit = 38 stitches

Cuff

rows 1-2 - all knit (i.e., garter stitch)
Bind off stitches knitwise.
(I knitted 5 rows of garter stitch. In the 1st and 3rd rows at the beginning and end of the row, I removed one stitch to slightly narrow the cuff)
You can also knit it with ribbing, longer, like in socks.

Finish
Sew the slippers with a knit stitch.
