Description of Women's Knitted Socks

Note: the patterns shown in the diagrams include all rows when viewed from the front side.

Cast on 40 sts and knit according to diagram A.1, while in the last row of the diagram increase the number of stitches to 39-41-43. Work the next row in knit stitch and in the purl row continue: 13-14-15 knit sts, place these stitches on a spare needle, increase 1 st, 13-13-13 knit sts, increase 1 st, 13-14-15 knit sts and place these stitches on a spare needle, cut the yarn. Continue knitting on the central stitches according to diagram A.2 (with 1 edge st on each side), then continue knitting in garter stitch and after 7-8?-10 cm in the last purl row decrease 1 st on each side, place these stitches on a spare needle and cut the yarn.

In the next knit row: return the held stitches from the 1st spare needle and knit them, pick up 12-14-16 sts along the edge of the piece from both sides, knit the central stitches of this piece and finish with the stitches from the 2nd spare needle = 63-69-75 sts. Now measure the height of the piece from this row. Continue knitting in garter stitch, placing a marker in the center, after 2 cm decrease 1 st on each side of the marker by knitting 2 sts together. Repeat the decrease row every 2nd row and at the same time when the height of the piece reaches 4-4-5 cm decrease 1 st on each side at the edge similarly. Repeat the decrease row every 2nd row. After 5-5-6 cm bind off the stitches. Sew the back seam of the sock and complete the seam on the sole.
