Socks with knitting needles

Charming home booties knitted for a child, made from thick acrylic yarn with added wool. The booties are knitted in the round using garter stitch, with the front part knitted in rows. The cuffs are knitted separately with a cable pattern according to the scheme provided in the description. The instructions are suitable for multiple sizes.

Materials

DROPS PEAK yarn (70% acrylic, 30% wool, 50 g/45 m) 2-2-3-3-4-4 skeins, 5 mm circular and straight needles, 4 buttons

Knitting Density

17 stitches and 22 rows = 10x10 cm in stockinette stitch

Cuff

Cast on 28-31-34-37-41-44 sts on circular needles and knit in garter stitch in the round (1 round knit, 1 round purl) for 4 cm, finish after the round with purl.

Foot

Leave only the first 12-12-12-14-14-14 sts of the round in work, transfer the remaining sts to a spare needle. Continue knitting in garter stitch in rows and at the same time cast on 1 new stitch on each side. When the central part reaches 4-4-5-6-6-7 cm in length, decrease by 1 st on each side. Transfer the slipped stitches back to the working needles and cast on 7-7-9-10-10-12 sts at the edges of the central part = 42-45-52-57-61-68 sts. Now measure the length from this point. Place 1 marker at the center of the front of the boot and 1 marker at the center of the heel = back part. Continue knitting in the round in garter stitch and after 2 cm decrease by 1 st on each side of the markers, repeat the decrease round every 2nd round until the height of the foot reaches 3-3-4-4-5-5 cm, bind off all stitches. Sew the seam from the toe to the heel.

Cast on 13 sts and knit 4 rows in garter stitch, in the last row evenly increase 4 sts. Continue knitting according to chart A.1 to a height of 18-20-22-24-26-28 cm from the cast-on edge, in the last row evenly decrease 2 sts = 13 sts. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch and bind off stitches. Place the cast-on edge over the edge with bound-off stitches and sew on 2 buttons. Position this piece 2 cm down over the cuff and sew it on as shown in the photo.
