Socks with knitting needles

Size: 35/37-38/39-40/42 
Foot length: 22-24-26 cm 
Materials: 
DROPS ESKIMO from Garnstudio 
300 g for all sizes in color number 08, red. 

DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES AND STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 6 mm - or size needed to get 13 stitches x 17 rows stockinette = 10 x 10 cm. 
DROPS DARK BUFFELHORN BUTTON NO. 536: 6 pieces for all sizes GARTER STITCH (back and forth on regular needles): 
knit all rows in knit stitches. 1 stripe = 2 rows knit.. 

PLAIN STITCH (in the round on double-pointed needles): 
* knit 1 round in knit stitches and 1 round in purl stitches *, repeat from * to *. 1 stripe = 2 rounds.. 

PATTERN: 
See diagram A.1. The diagram shows the pattern displayed from the front side. 

These booties are knitted with two pieces. The lower piece is the slipper itself, which is sewn on the sole. The upper piece is decorative, knitted with braids, to which buttons are sewn, serving only as decoration.  Size: 35/37 - 38/39 - 40/42 Foot length: 22-24-26 cm. You will need: 300 g of DROPS ESKIMO yarn (100% wool, 50 g/50 m) in red color No. 08, 6 decorative buttons, knitted with double pointed needles size 6 mm. Knitting gauge: 13 st. * 17 rows = 10 * 10 cm. Garter stitch (knit back and forth): all stitches knit. Garter stitch in the round (on double-pointed needles): 1 row knit stitches, 1 row purl stitches. Pattern: knit according to the diagram, the pattern is shown from the front side.        Lower piece of the booties: cast on 36-38-40 stitches on double-pointed needles, join in the round. Knit in garter stitch for 4 cm. Foot: leave the first 9-11-11 stitches on the working needles, set aside the remaining 27-27-29 st. Continue to knit in garter stitch back and forth over 9-11-11 stitches, simultaneously adding 1 stitch on each side in the first row = 11-13-13 stitches. At a height of 7-8.5-10 cm, bind off 1 stitch on each side = 9-11-11 stitches. Add 12-14-16 stitches on each side from the central 9-11-11 stitches, and then return the set-aside stitches back to the working needles = 60-66-72 stitches. Attach a contrasting thread, then measure the piece from here. Place one marker in the center of the toe section and one in the center of the heel section. Knit in the round in garter stitch for another 2 cm. Knit in the round in garter stitch, simultaneously decrease 1 stitch on each side of the markers (2 together knit) – 4 stitches decreased. Repeat such decreases every second row until the height is 5-5-6 cm from the contrasting thread, sew together the seam under the foot from marker to marker. Secure and cut the yarn.  Upper piece of the booties: cast on 22 stitches. Knit back and forth for 2 rows in garter stitch, add 6 stitches in the last row, evenly distributing them along the row = 28 stitches. Knit according to the diagram until a height of 32-33-35 cm, decrease in the last row 3 stitches over each braid - (2 together knit) - 3 times over each braid = 22 stitches. Knit 2 rows in garter stitch. Bind off stitches. Place the cast-on edge over the bind-off edge, sew it on, and also sew on 3 decorative buttons.     Assembly: place the upper piece over 2 cm of the lower piece, sew on. Knit the second boot in the same way.





BOOTIES: 
LEGS: 
Cast on 36-38-40 stitches on double-pointed needles size 6 mm with Eskimo. Knit in GARTER STITCH in the round - see instructions above - until the piece measures about 4 cm in length, finish after 1 round of purl. 

FOOT: 
Now leave the first 9-11-11 stitches on the circular needle, set aside the remaining 27-27-29 stitches on an additional needle. Continue in garter stitch back and forth over 9-11-11 stitches - AT THE SAME TIME in the 1st row, add 1 new stitch on each side (edge stitch) = 11-13-13 stitches. When the piece measures 7-8.5-10 cm in length, bind off 1 edge stitch on each side = 9-11-11 stitches. Then transfer the stitches from the additional needle back to the needle and add 12-14-16 stitches on each side from the center piece (inside 1 edge stitch) = 60-66-72 stitches on the needle. Now measure the piece from here. Add 1 marker in the center of the toe section and 1 marker in the center of the back section on the heel. Continue in the round in garter stitch. When the piece measures 2 cm in length, knit 2 knit stitches together at each marker every 2nd round ( = 4 stitches less/round). Continue decreasing until the piece measures 5-5-6 cm in length - bind off. Sew the center seam under the foot in the last stitch to avoid a thick seam. 


FREE LEGS KNITTED LENGTHWISE: 
Cast on 22 stitches on needles size 6 mm with Eskimo. Knit 1 stripe in garter stitch, in the last row add 6 stitches evenly = 28 stitches. Knit according to A.1 ( = 28 stitches ) until the piece measures about 32-33-35 cm in length, in the last row decrease 3 stitches over each braid in A.1 = 22 stitches. Knit 1 stripe in garter stitch and bind off. Place the cast-on edge over the bind-off edge and sew on 3 buttons for decoration through the leg.. Pull down the leg 2 cm over the foot with the buttons on the outside of the booties and sew the leg cast-on edge to the bootie on the wrong side with invisible stitches. 

Knit another boot in the same way, making sure that the leg openings are on the opposite side..
