Slippers in a new way???? . It often happens that you want to knit a familiar model in a new way ; )) . This is the option I intend to share with you today, preparing a description of knitted slippers on a felt insole.

These slippers are incredibly comfortable to wear, cozy and lightweight. Thanks to the felt sole, they become even warmer and softer, and their lifespan increases several times! Rest assured, you will wear slippers on a felt insole for an entire season, and they will remain intact!

The slippers are knitted from Troitsk yarn "Pure wool" 250m / 100g, in 2 strands. For slippers size 38, 95g was used. The stitch count is suitable for knitting slippers from size 36 to 41. The size can be increased by adding rows in the central part.

Cast on 44 stitches using the classic method, divide onto 4 needles (11 stitches each) and knit the upper part of the slippers with a simple ribbing 1 knit* 1 purl. I knitted 5 rows in blue color - 3 rows in beige - 2 rows in turquoise - 3 beige - 5 in blue color.

I usually knit 18 - 20 rows of ribbing, after which I start knitting the front part of the slippers. This part is knitted in garter stitch, meaning all rows are knitted with knit stitches.

The central part of the slippers is knitted on the middle 16 stitches, which I knit with knit stitches in back and forth rows. The necessary number of rows is determined based on the required size. For example, for slippers size 36-37, I knit 14 rows, after which I start decreasing stitches and shaping the toe.

I decrease at the beginning and end of the knit row by one stitch every 3 rows. A total of 6 stitches are decreased, and 10 stitches remain on the needle. I cut the yarn.

At the next stage of knitting, knit the side part of the slippers. I recommend knitting this part on circular or double-pointed needles. To do this, return the temporarily left 28 stitches (14 stitches on 2 needles) back to work. On the needles, cast on 14 stitches with blue yarn from one needle + pick up 19 stitches along the edge of the central part + 10 stitches from the central part + pick up 19 stitches along the second edge of the central part + the remaining 14 stitches. In total, there are 76 stitches on the needles.

The side part is knitted as follows: Row 1: all stitches knit, blue yarn Row 2: all stitches purl, blue yarn Row 3: all stitches knit, turquoise yarn Row 4: all stitches purl, turquoise yarn Row 5: all stitches knit, beige yarn Row 6: all stitches purl, beige yarn Row 7: all stitches knit, turquoise yarn Row 8: all stitches purl, turquoise yarn Row 9: all stitches knit, blue yarn Row 10: all stitches purl, blue yarn. After knitting 10 rows of the side part, we proceed to knitting the sole and closing the stitches. We determine the middle 14 stitches and place markers; these will be the stitches for the sole. The sole is knitted in garter stitch, back and forth, with 14 stitches in work. At the end of each row, we knit 2 stitches together (one stitch from the sole + one stitch from the adjacent side part). In the knit row, we decrease the stitches with a purl stitch, and in the purl row, we decrease the stitches together using a knit stitch. We continue knitting the sole, gradually closing all stitches from the side part.

After there are 28 stitches left on the needles (14 stitches on 2 needles), I close these stitches. You can close them in any way: with needles, a needle, or a hook. I close the stitches with a hook, capturing 2 stitches at once (one stitch from each needle).

The slippers are almost ready! You can leave them as they are, or you can insulate and strengthen the slippers by connecting them with a felt insole to create full-fledged home footwear.

For the sole, you will need: felt insoles of the required size - 1 pair, synthetic yarn "Sock addition", an awl, a hook, a needle. Using a hot awl, I make holes in the insoles about 1 cm apart, retreating 0.5 cm from the edge. I recommend making holes in both insoles at the same time, stacking them together. This way, you will get an equal number of holes.

Using a hook, I crochet the insole with single crochet stitches, putting 2-3 stitches in one hole. I crochet in two strands - the main one + synthetic for reinforcement. I make only one row. I sew the finished slippers to the insole. I cut the yarn and hide the "tail") Author Tasha Dorenko
