Beautiful and warm socks with knitting needlesKlubokhttp://klubok.work/1/53/9174/Klubokhttps://klubok.work/css/image/top-logo-en.pngThis pattern is so simple and knits up so quickly that you won't even notice your socks are ready.
The main purpose of socks is to keep your feet warm. But you also want them to be beautiful!
For knitting these socks, I used Gazzal Happy Fit yarn (75% merino wool, 25% polyamide, 165 m per 50g), with 2.25 mm needles. The yarn consumption is 70g.
The pattern I suggest using for knitting these socks is so simple that even those who are just starting to knit will find it easy.
The repeat of the pattern is only 8 stitches wide and 16 rows high.
What makes it so good? It is easy to remember, you don't have to constantly follow the chart, and it fits into any type of heel due to the small number of stitches in the repeat.
Row 1 - 1 purl, 6 knits, 1 purl
Row 2 and all even rows - 1 purl, 6 knits, 1 purl
Row 3 - 1 purl, yarn over, 2 knits, 2 together knitwise with a left slant, 2 knits, 1 purl
Row 5 - 1 purl, 1 knit, yarn over, 2 knits, 2 together knitwise with a left slant, 1 knit, 1 purl
Row 7 - 1 purl, 2 knits, yarn over, 2 knits, 2 together knitwise with a left slant, 1 purl
Row 9 - 1 purl, 6 knits, 1 purl
Row 11 - 1 purl, 2 knits, 2 together knitwise with a right slant, 2 knits, yarn over, 1 purl
Row 13 - 1 purl, 1 knit, 2 together knitwise with a right slant, 2 knits, yarn over, 1 knit, 1 purl
Row 15 - 1 purl, 2 together knitwise with a right slant, 2 knits, yarn over, 2 knits, 1 purl
Now let's start knitting.
You need to cast on a number of stitches that is a multiple of 8.
I cast on 64 stitches using the Bulgarian cast-on, which is very suitable for casting on in a 2x2 ribbing.
To make the ribbing transition nicely into the pattern, we start knitting the ribbing with 1 purl stitch (1 purl, 2 knits, 2 purls, etc., ending the row with 1 purl). We knit the 2x2 ribbing for 15 rows.
After the ribbing is done, we move on to the pattern. I knitted 2 repeats in height. The leg is ready.
Now you need to decide which heel you will knit. I chose the strong heel. You can choose whichever you like.
I won't describe the wedge and heel in full; I will leave a link to a video - everything will be knitted exactly the same way.
The only difference is that to form the wedge of the instep, you don't need to mark the center two stitches. We will form the wedge between the two central purls - the first two increases are made from the stitches of the previous row between these stitches.
If you are knitting with circular needles, it will look like this on the needle with the heel: 2 repeats of the pattern, 1 increase knitwise, another increase knitwise, 2 repeats of the pattern.
If you are knitting with 4 needles - on the 3rd needle: 2 repeats of the pattern, 1 increase knitwise, on the 4th needle: 1 increase knitwise, 2 repeats of the pattern.
The wedge fits neatly into the pattern repeats in height - 32 rows = 32 stitches added.
The foot took me 3 full repeats. This is for size 39. If you have a different size or a different tension, you can switch to closing the toe at any moment.
Closing the toe took me 15 rows.
I closed it like this: 2 knits, 2 together with a left slant, all knits until the last 4 stitches on the needle, 2 together with a right slant, 2 knits.
Decreases in rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
The remaining stitches were sewn together with a needle stitch by stitch.
