Abbreviations

1. PkrL – left cross stitches (sts) 2x2:

- slip 2 sts to the auxiliary needle before knitting;

- take 2 sts from the left needle and knit them as 2 knit stitches;

- now take 2 sts from the auxiliary needle and knit them the same way as 2 knit stitches. 

2. PkrP – right cross stitches 2x2:

- slip 2 sts to the auxiliary needle behind the knitting;

- knit 2 knit stitches from the left needle;

- knit 2 knit stitches, taking them from the auxiliary needle.

 

3. ShSh – bobble:

- in one regular stitch, knit a whole group (1 knit stitch; 1 purl stitch – purl stitch; 1 knit stitch; 1 purl stitch; 1 knit stitch);

- make a turn;

- knit 5 purl stitches;

- turn;

- now slip 5 sts to the right needle;

- place several sts on the 1st stitch – the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

 

Knit a braid 

Cast on 9 sts.

1st row: knit sts.

2nd row: purl sts.

3rd row: PkrP; 1 knit stitch; PkrL.

4th row: purl sts.

5th row: 4 knit sts; ShSh; 4 knit sts.

6th row: purl sts.

7th row: 3 knit sts; ShSh; 1 knit stitch; ShSh; 3 knit sts.

8th row: purl sts.

9th row: knit sts.

10th row: purl sts.

 

You will create a pattern by repeating rows 3-10.
