Knitting a twisted edge is a very simple and easy way to finish the edge of a product when knitting stockinette stitch to achieve a neat, non-stretching, and non-twisting edge. Make a classic cast-on of the required number of stitches and knit 4 rows of stockinette stitch: the 1st and 3rd right-side rows – knit stitches; the 2nd and 4th wrong-side rows – purl stitches. In the 5th right-side row, the twisted edge is formed. For this, after knitting every 4 stitches knit, twist the left side of the knitting towards yourself. After finishing the row and completely twisting the initial rows, continue to knit as usual in stockinette stitch. From the right side, the edge looks like a twisted cord along the edge, while from the wrong side it results in a wavy edge.
