Row 21 — close the first 10 stitches, keeping the pattern of the seed stitch. You will have 20 stitches on the needles again. Then, continue knitting similarly to the description above.
The first square with a pointed edge is ready… For now, it doesn’t look much like a pointed edge)))
Row 22 — You already have one stitch on your right needle, it’s the edge stitch))) 9 purl stitches, yarn over, 10 knit stitches (21)
And so on, remembering to alternate between the rows of knit and purl stitches in the transverse ribbing.
Memo for knitting the pointed edge with squares
Friends, actually all actions are easy to remember. Just think about it:
In each row, there is an edge stitch
The number of stitches in the seed stitch (including the edge stitch) is always the same. In our case — 10
In the knit rows after knitting the seed stitch, there is always an increase. The remaining stitches to the end of the row are either knit or purl (according to the pattern of the transverse ribbing)
In the purl rows, knit the knit or purl stitches (according to the pattern) including the increase from the previous row. There will always be 10 stitches of seed stitch.
When the number of stitches in the transverse ribbing increases by the number equal to the number of stitches in the seed pattern, close all stitches above the seed pattern at the beginning of the row.
No additional stitches need to be picked up.
After closing the seed stitch, there will always be as many stitches on the needle as there were at the beginning of the knitting
