The pattern I used for crocheting. The pattern is not mine How I crocheted the skirt: 1. Made a test sample, washed it, and ironed it. 2. Divide the hip circumference by the width of the sample = the number of scales. BUT!!! Viscose stretches in all directions, so I ended up with fewer scales. For my size 46 - 10 pieces. For those who will crochet with cotton, the formula will work. 3. The scale on the waistband is slightly different from the main one, as we need a smooth, neat edge; the scales should have a semicircular shape. Here is my pattern.
4. Crocheted one scale - attach the second one while crocheting with slip stitches. Each scale consists of 6 rows. 5. Crocheted a ribbon equal to the hip circumference and joined it in a circle.
6. 7-8 rows - edging according to the pattern in a circle.
7. Then continue crocheting according to the main pattern until the desired length.
I constantly cut the thread. I didn't like continuous crocheting - it resulted in a rough and clumsy seam.
Waistband - 8-9 rows of single crochet. I crocheted the belt loops at the end as well - width of 3 single crochets. Here is an approximate pattern
