Cozy classic. Master Natalia Lok. Cardigan with a border - with a pattern.

Hip circumference 104 cm. Length of the item 85 cm. About 1500 g of bulky acrylic or semi-wool yarn (150 m/100 g) will be required, needles No. 3.5 – 4, buttons (or plastic rings for handmade buttons).

Pattern "Teeth":
1st method:
Cast on an even number of stitches, a multiple of four, plus 3 additional stitches, plus 2 edge stitches.
1st row (right side): 1 edge stitch,* 3 purl stitches, 3 knit stitches made from one stitch (pull the working yarn from under the stitch, without removing it from the needle, make 1 yarn over, then knit the knit stitch  through the back loop, slip off the needle), repeat from *, 3 purl stitches. Last stitch is an edge stitch.
2nd row (wrong side): First and last stitches are edges. Knit the rest according to the pattern.
3rd row (right side): 1 edge stitch, 1 purl stitch, *1 purl stitch, 2 stitches together knitwise through the front loop, 1 knit stitch, 2 stitches together knitwise through the back loop, repeat from *, 2 purl stitches. Last stitch is an edge stitch.
4th row (wrong side): knit according to the pattern.
Continue repeating, starting  with the 1st row.

2nd method (more convenient):
Cast on an even number of stitches, a multiple of four, plus 3 additional stitches, plus 2 edge stitches.
1st row (right side): 1 edge stitch,*3 purl stitches, 3 knit stitches made from one stitch (pull the working yarn from under the stitch, without removing it from the needle, make 1 yarn over, then knit the knit stitch  through the back loop, slip off the needle), repeat from *, 3 purl stitches. Last stitch is an edge stitch.
2nd row (wrong side): 1 edge stitch, 1 knit stitch, *2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, 2 stitches together purlwise, repeat from *, 2 knit stitches. Last stitch is an edge stitch.
3rd row (right side): 1 edge stitch, 1 purl stitch, *1 purl stitch, 1 knit stitch through the front loop, 1 knit stitch through the back loop, 2 stitches together knitwise through the back loop, repeat from  *, 1 purl stitch. Last stitch is an edge stitch.
4th row (wrong side): knit according to the pattern.
Continue repeating, starting  with the 1st row.

Pattern repeat 10 stitches, plus 1 stitch, plus 2 edge stitches.
1st row (right side): first and last stitches are edges, all other stitches are purls.
2nd row (wrong side): first and last stitches are edges, all other stitches are knits.
3rd row (right side): 1 edge stitch, *1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 3 knit stitches, 3 stitches together knitwise, 3 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, repeat from *, 1 knit stitch, 1 edge stitch.
4th row (wrong side): first and last stitches are edges, all other stitches are purls. Yarn overs are knitted through the back loop.
Continue repeating, starting from the 3rd row.

Back
Cast on 93 stitches. Knit 2 patterns "Border" in height. For a more accurate calculation of the number of stitches needed for casting on, use the "Rule for calculating the number of stitches"
When transitioning to the main pattern, decrease 6 stitches.
Knit the pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, 15 stitches in "Teeth" pattern, 16 stitches in "Beetle" pattern, 23 stitches in "Teeth" pattern, 16 stitches in "Beetle" pattern, 15 stitches in "Teeth" pattern, last stitch is an edge stitch.
At a height of 65 cm from the cast-on edge, close for the armhole 1x6 stitches on both sides. Then twice every 3 "Teeth" patterns in height, knit 3 stitches together on both sides of the back (knit or purl according to the pattern) at the beginning of the row after the edge stitch, at the end of the row before the edge stitch. Continue knitting the remaining stitches without decreases.
At a height of 20 cm from the beginning of the armhole slopes, close all stitches, knitting together alternately 2 stitches and 3 stitches.

Left front
Cast on 57 stitches. For a more accurate calculation of the number of stitches needed for casting on, use the"Rule for calculating the number of stitches"
Knit the border as follows: 1 edge stitch, 41 stitches in "Border" pattern, 14 stitches in 1x1 ribbing for the edge of the front, 1 edge stitch.
After knitting 2 "Border" patterns in height, add 1 stitch and knit the main pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, 15 stitches in "Teeth" pattern, 16 stitches in "Beetle" pattern, 11 stitches – in "Teeth" pattern, 14 stitches knit in 1x1 ribbing for the edge of the front, 1 edge stitch.
At a height of 65 cm from the cast-on edge, close 6 stitches for the armhole. Then twice every 3 "Teeth" patterns in height, knit 3 stitches together (knit or purl – according to the pattern) at the end of the row before the edge stitch. Continue knitting the remaining stitches without decreases.
At a height of 65 cm from the cast-on edge, decrease for the neckline every 4th row 6x1 stitch, knitting together 2 stitches (knit or purl – according to the pattern) before the edge.
At a height of 20 cm from the armhole slopes, close the front, knitting together alternately 2 stitches and 3 stitches.
Continue knitting the edge according to the pattern. Then close.

Right front
Knit symmetrically to the left front, remembering to make buttonholes on the edge.

Sleeve
Cast on 33 stitches. Knit 7 cm in 1x1 ribbing. When transitioning to the pattern, add 24 stitches. Knit the resulting 57 stitches in "Teeth" pattern without additions.
At a height of 16 teeth (41 cm from the cast-on edge), for the sleeve cap, close 6 stitches on both sides. Then decrease twice on both sides by 2 stitches with an interval of a height of 3 "Teeth" patterns, knitting 3 stitches together (knit or purl according to the pattern) at the beginning of the row after the edge stitch, at the end of the row before the edge stitch. Knit the remaining stitches without decreases. At a height of 11 "Teeth" patterns (20 cm), reduce the stitches to 8 stitches and knit,   folding the yarn in half,  the tip  in stocking stitch (knit all stitches in the right side, all stitches in the wrong side – purl) for a length of 9 cm, then close.

Collar
Cast on 7 stitches. Knit 7 patterns in "Teeth". Then cast on 14 stitches along the edge on a free needle, which are knitted as follows:
right side – edge stitch, * 1 purl stitch, 1 knit stitch, repeat from *,
wrong side – all stitches are knit, edge stitch.
On the other edge, continue knitting the "Teeth" pattern. At a height of 22 "Teeth" patterns, close the collar. Knit the second half of the collar symmetrically.

Buttons
Buttons can be made by yourself if you have plastic ring blanks.
