In items with a round yoke, it is desirable, or better mandatory!!! for a better fit of the garment to knit the neckline!!!
If the neckline is knitted, then the front cut will be larger than the back, as it should be.. Without the neckline, your garment will constantly slide back, onto the back, that is, it will try to *choke* you, so to speak..
