Change yarn to beige, knit 3 rows in stockinette stitch.
Cut a long end of yarn, pass through the stitches on the needle, pull the stitches together and secure.


Banana peel (1 piece)


Using 3mm needles and yellow yarn, cast on 13 stitches for the main edge and knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch.
Next row: Increase by 1 stitch in each stitch to the end (26 stitches)
Knit stockinette stitch for 21 rows
Decrease by one stitch at the beginning and end of the last row (24 stitches).
Shape the torn sections
Next row:* 6 knits, turn and knit only on these stitches.
Knit stockinette stitch for 21 rows.
Decrease by 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the next row (4 stitches).
Purl row
Decrease by 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the next row (2 stitches).

Banana (1 piece)


Using 3mm needles and banana color, cast on 13 stitches for the upper edge and knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch.
Next row: 1 increase in each stitch to the end (26 stitches)
Knit stockinette stitch for 22 rows, decreasing 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the last row (24 stitches). Then knit the same as the sections of the banana peel.


Assembly of the toy


I didn't translate the assembly literally since it's all clear anyway. Sew the pieces together using a mattress stitch on the right side. When knitting with boucle yarn, the author asks not to forget that the purl side of the work is the front in this case. Stuff the toy with soft material (holofiber, fiberfill, or synthetic padding). The author reminds that when sewing the toy's parts, to be careful with the pins, not to accidentally leave them in the toy. The banana can be sewn to the gorilla's palm or fixed with Velcro. Then the banana can be removed from the monkey's paw.
Shape the eyes ("bulging") slightly stuff, embroider the pupils with black thread.
Shape the muzzle according to the photo. Embroider the nostrils.
Sew the banana, stuff it with filling, and connect it to the peel on the right side with a mattress or vertical knit stitch. (The peel should end up double. The outer is the color of the peel, the inner is the color of the banana)
Sew the ears, slightly fold them, and attach them to the head.
Sew each finger of the palm on the right side, stuff not too tightly so that the palm remains flexible. Sew the gorilla's hind legs in such a way that the monkey sits and keeps its balance.
