Author of the May beetle – Nikomi.

What does May remind you of? Thunder? The last bell at school? The May beetle? Great! Let's connect this last symbol of the warmest and happiest month of spring. For this, you will need bright threads of any colors, a hook, and a good mood. After all, the May beetle is always cheerful, brave, and ready for new adventures! This funny toy will delight not only the little one but also adults – it can be hung on a backpack, in a car, and even used to decorate a room with beetles. Our beetle is made of thin acrylic, its wings are made of "Begonia" cotton, with a hook size of 1.5, and measures 6 cm. Happy crocheting!

Body (top - 1 piece)

Made in rows back and forth. Alternate the main and additional colors every 2 rows.

Row 22 - 1 sc, 4 decreases, 1 sc (6)

Row 23 – 3 decreases (3). Crochet around with sc, trying to make 54 sc in the row. Finish, secure the thread and cut. Weave in the end. The place where we started crocheting is the back, and where we finished is the front. Don’t forget to mark this.

Assembly: sew the wings, then the elytra, following the photo. Sew the head to the body, attach the eyes to the head, sew beads to the eyes, and embroider a smiling mouth. Sew the legs to the belly, following the photo. Your beetle is ready to spread its wings and embark on its first cheerful flight!
