Knitted Bag

If you are young, creative, and irresistible, this handbag is simply a must-have for you!  

The handbag is knitted, decorated with a silver chain and three large beautiful buttons, one of which is used as a fastener.

The size of the handbag is 17 by 23 cm. It consists of a base and four squares. 

The base of the handbag - width 16 cm, length 38 cm is knitted with garter stitch. It is recommended to cast on 10 stitches. How many stitches you will cast on depends on your yarn, the thickness of the needles, and your knitting technique.

We knit two pearl squares, casting on 16 stitches (Pearl knitting (also known as rice stitch))

We knit two squares with braids : cast on 20 stitches.
1st row (right side): 7 purl, 6 knit, 7 purl. 2nd row: 7 knit, 6 purl, 7 knit. 3rd row - like the first; 4th like the second;
5th row - like the first. 6th - like the second
7th row: 7 purl, slip 3 sts to a spare needle in front of work, 3 knit. knit 3 knit from spare needle, 7 purl.
8th row: like the 2nd row
Repeat the last 8 rows – 1 time
17th row: like the 1st row
18th row: like the 2nd row
19th row: like the 1st row
20th row: like the 2nd row
Bind off stitches

Assembling: sew the base to one side of the pearl pattern square, on the opposite side of the base sew on the square with braids.
Sew the braid square to the pearl pattern square on both sides of the base, connecting the newly sewn square to the base.

Finishing the handbag: cast on 52 sts along the handbag: 10 sts along each square and 6 sts along the edges of the base.
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side) to a height of 5 cm.
Bind off stitches.

Handle: thread 2 strands through the chain, thread 2 large beautiful beads on both sides, secure them on the sides of the handbag.
Sew a large bead (button) in the center.

Make a chain of air stitches of a convenient length for you, make a loop and secure it on the handbag. With this chain, you will be able to close the handbag. Your new accessory is ready!
