Head circumference accordingly: 37 [42, 47, 52] cm.
You will need:
100 g of cotton yarn (approximately 200 m per 100 g);
Hook No. 4 or another suitable for the knitting density.

Shell: Crochet (DC, 1 ch, DC) into one stitch.
ch – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
To knit a sample for density calculation, chain 26 ch.
Row 1: SC in the 2nd stitch from the hook, * skip the next 2 ch, 5 DC in the next ch (shell made), skip the next 2 ch, SC in the next ch; repeat from * to the end of the row: 4 shells and 5 SC.
Row 2: [4 ch, turn; DC in the first SC (counted as the first shell)], 1 ch, * skip the next 2 DC, SC in the next DC, skip the next 2 DC, 1 ch, shell in the next SC (see note), 1 ch; repeat from * 2 more times, skip the next 2 DC, SC in the next DC, skip the next 2 DC, 1 ch, shell in the last SC: 5 shells and 4 SC.
Row 3: 1 ch, turn, SC in the first shell, * 5 DC in the next SC, SC in the next shell; repeat from * to the end of the row: 4 shells and 5 SC.
Rows 4-9: Repeat rows 2 and 3 3 more times.

Row 2: 1 ch, 2 SC in each SC to the end of the row; Sl st in the first SC: 14 [16, 18, 20] SC.
Row 3: [4 ch, DC in the same stitch (counted as a shell here and in similar cases)], DC in the next SC, * shell in the next SC, DC in the next SC; repeat from * to the end of the row; Sl st in the 3rd ch from the initial 4 ch: 7 [8, 9, 10] shells and 7 [8, 9, 10] DC.
Row 4: Sl st in the arch of 1 ch of the first shell, 4 ch, DC in this same arch, 2 DC in the next DC, * shell in the next shell, 2 DC in the next DC; repeat from * to the end of the row; Sl st in the 3rd ch from the initial 4 ch: 7 [8, 9, 10] shells and 14 [16, 18, 20] DC.
