BOW - SHORT OVERVIEW OF PIECE:
Piece is first worked back and forth as a strip in English rib with I-cord in each side. Then sew cast-on edge against bind-off edge. Then work a middle ribbon in double knit - middle ribbon is fastened around the bow itself. Then fasten a safety pin or pull a string through the middle ribbon on the back of bow so that the bow can be fastened or tied.

BOW:
Cast on 19 stitches on pointed needles size 3 MM = US 2.5 with DROPS Cotton Merino. Work ENGLISH RIB WITH 2 STITCHES I-CORD IN EACH SIDE - read explanation above. Work until piece measures 22 cm = 8¾". Remember to follow the knitting gaugeBind off. Sew bind-off edge against cast-on edge - sew stitch by stitch to form a ring (make sure that the right side is outwards, i.e. that there is a purled English rib stitch in each side inside I-cord edges). Place the seam in the middle on the back of bow.

MIDDLE RIBBON:
Cast on 10 stitches on pointed needles size 3 MM = US 2.5 with DROPS Cotton Merino. Work DOUBLE KNIT back and forth - read explanation above. When middle ribbon measures 6 cm = 2⅜", knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 5 stitches. Bind off.
Place the middle ribbon around the bow so that the bow can be tightened in the middle. Sew cast-on edge to bind-off edge (seam should be on the back of bow).

ASSEMBLY:
Fasten a safety pin or pull a string through the middle ribbon on the back of bow to fasten.
