Pattern "Honeycomb"

(odd number of stitches)

Row 1 (right side): all knit.

Row 2: 1 knit, *slip 1 stitch purlwise, yarn at back, 1 knit; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 3 (right side): all knit.

Row 4: 2 knit, * slip 1 stitch purlwise, yarn at back, 1 knit; repeat from * to last stitch, finish with 1 knit.

Repeat rows 1 to 4.

Pattern "Butterflies"

(stitch count multiple of 8 + 4 stitches)

Row 1 (right side): all knit.

Row 2 and all wrong side rows: all purl.

Row 3: all knit.

Row 5: 2 knit, * knit the 2nd stitch through the back, then knit the 1st stitch and slip them off the left needle, knit the 2nd stitch in front of the work, then knit the 1st stitch behind the work and slip them off the left needle, 4 knit; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, 2 knit.

Front

 

On straight needles, cast on 71 (87) stitches. Knit 16 rows in "honeycomb" pattern. Finish with a purl row.

 

Next row (right side): 17 (21) knit, [2 together knit, 16 (20) knit] x 3 times. On the needles—68 (84) stitches.

 

Continue knitting the "Butterflies" pattern from rows 2 to 16, then repeat rows 1-16 of the "Butterflies" pattern 6 (9) more times, then repeat rows 1-4 of the "Butterflies" pattern 1 more time. Knit to a height of approximately 40 (50) cm from the start of the work. Finish with a purl row.

 

Back

 

At the beginning of the next 2 rows, cast on 8 stitches and knit these rows as rows 1 and 2 of the "Butterflies" pattern. On the needles—84 (100) stitches.

 

Knit rows 3-16 of the "Butterflies" pattern, then repeat rows 1-16 of the "Butterflies" pattern until the length of the back equals 40 (50) cm from the first row of the back. Finish with a purl row.

 

Mark the start and end of the row with contrasting yarn and begin knitting the hood.

 

Hood

 

Continue knitting until the height of the back is 63.5 (79) cm, finish with a purl row.

 

Knit the next row with knit stitches.

 

Bind off all stitches in a purl row.

 

Do not remove the marking yarn.

 

Finishing

 

Carefully sew the hood along the seam.

 

Left Placket.

 

From the front side along the left edge of the front, evenly cast on 97 (121) stitches. Starting from the second row, knit 15 rows in "honeycomb" pattern. Bind off stitches.

 

Right Placket

 

From the front side along the right edge of the front, evenly cast on 97 (121) stitches. Starting from the second row, knit 15 rows in "honeycomb" pattern. Bind off stitches.

 

Placket along the back and hood

 

Row 1 (right side): on circular needles, evenly cast on 92 (116) stitches along the edge of the back up to the marker, also cast on 113 (139) stitches along the edge of the hood up to the next marker and 92 (116) stitches from the marker along the other edge of the back. On the needles – 297 (371) stitches.

 

Starting from the second row, knit rows 2-8 in "honeycomb" pattern.

 

Row 9: 2 knit, * create a one-row buttonhole from 3 stitches, 9 knit. Repeat from * 7 (9) more times. Knit one more time a one-row buttonhole from 3 stitches, 3 knit. Then continue knitting in "honeycomb" pattern to the marker. Then knit 3 knit, * create a one-row buttonhole from 3 stitches, 9 knit. Repeat from * 7 (9) more times. Knit one more time a one-row buttonhole from 3 stitches, 2 knit.

 

From the next row continue knitting in "honeycomb" pattern for another 7 rows.

 

Bind off stitches in the right side row.

 

Sew the lower edges of the front plackets to the bound-on stitches of the back edges.

 

Sew buttons to the front plackets.
