ENVELOPE FOR BABYhttp://klubok.work/23/181/6918/Klubok

Size: from birth to 3 months.

Needles: 3.

Gauge: for stockinette stitch (needle #3): 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work Description

Back

Cast on 32 sts. Knit in stockinette stitch, increasing at each edge every other row: 1 time by 6 sts, 1 time by 5 sts, 1 time by 4 sts, 1 time by 3 sts, 1 time by 2 sts, 5 times by 1 st, then, after knitting 2 rows, decrease 2 sts for the placket under the side closure.

After knitting 14 cm (42 rows) in height, decrease at each edge every 10th row 9 times by 1 st. After knitting 38 cm (120 rows) in height, decrease for the armholes at each edge after 9 rows: 1 time by 3 sts, 1 time by 2 sts, and 3 times by 1 st.

After knitting 48 cm in height, close 14 central sts and finish each side separately, knitting 2 rows on each side and decreasing for the neckline 1 time by 3 sts.

Then knit the straps for another 30 rows, evenly making 3 buttonholes (for adjusting the length of the straps, very useful). Bind off the stitches.

Front

Since the gauge of the front differs, cast on 39 sts. Knit as follows: the central 25 sts for the braid go in different directions (5 knit, 6 sts of the braid (purl crossed right, left – every 6 rows), 4 knit, similar to the braid without tightening) – for the rest, knit with increases every other row: 1 time by 6 sts, 1 time by 5 sts, 1 time by 4 sts, 1 time by 3 sts, 1 time by 2 sts, 5 times by 1 st, then, after knitting 2 rows, decrease 2 sts under the placket for the side closure.

After 14 cm (42 rows) in height, decrease at each edge every 10th row 9 times by 1 st for the armholes.

After knitting 38 cm (114 rows) in height, decrease for the armholes at each edge: 1 time by 3 sts, 1 time by 2 sts, and 3 times by 1 st. At a height of 46 cm (134 rows), 39 sts will remain in the work. Continue knitting according to the pattern for another 3 cm, then close the central 15 sts and finish each side separately. In the next row, decrease by 3 sts and then knit the straps (13 sts) in knit stitches. After knitting 6 rows on the strap, in the 7th row make a buttonhole: bind off 2 sts, in the next row cast on 2 sts in that place. Continue knitting for another 14 rows. Bind off the stitches.

After knitting 38 cm in height, decrease for the armholes at each edge every row: 1 time by 3 sts, 1 time by 2 sts, and 3 times by 1 st.

At a height of 46 cm, bind off the stitches.
