How to knit the sweater

Body
The front and back parts of the sweater are knitted simultaneously.

Using needles, cast on 149/161 sts and knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch.

Fold: 2k, *2 together knitwise.* – at the end 3k.

Then knit 5 rows in stockinette.

Along the cast-on edge, pick up stitches on a holder. Fold the fabric between the needles and knit accordingly 1 st from the working needle and 1 st from the holder needle.

The next purl row is knitted with purl sts.

Next row: 2k, place a marker, knit the 1st row of the lacy pattern with hearts until the last 2 sts, place a marker, 2k.

Knit 46 rows according to the pattern description and 2 sts in stockinette stitch at the edges. If a longer sweater is needed, knit 10 more rows, stopping at row 6 of the lace.

Next, work 2 rows in stockinette on all stitches, then 3 rows in knit stitches and 1 row in purl stitches.

Then do the following: 37/39k, bind off 2/4 sts for the armhole, 70/74k, bind off 2/4 sts for the armhole, 37/39k.

Next, the front and back pieces are knitted separately.

Left shelf
Bind off 1 st on the armhole side.

Knit in stockinette for 4.5/5 cm from the division point.

On the neckline side, bind off 4 sts once, then 2 rows of 2 sts and 4/5 rows of 1 st. (=24/45 sts).

When you knit 9.5/11.5 cm, start to shape the shoulder line: bind off 1 row of 3/4 sts and 1 row of 4/5 sts. (=17/16 sts). Bind off the remaining sts in one step.

Right shelf
Knit similarly to the left, but in a mirror image.

Back
Bind off 1 st from both sides. Knit to the same height as the front, shape the shoulders similarly.

Sleeve
Cast on 36 sts and knit 6 rows in stockinette. Make the lower edge similarly as on the previous piece.

3 rows of knit sts, add stitches evenly to 39 sts.

Next row: 1k, *according to the chart of the lacy pattern with hearts, 1 k.*

Knit lace and 2 sts in stockinette at the edges.

When you knit 16 rows, add 1 st on both sides. Make increases every 5 rows until there are a total of 45/53 sts. Knit the cast-on sts in lace pattern.

When you knit 16.5/18 rows, bind off 1 st on each side. Then decrease every 1 row by 1 st – 9/10 times. Bind off 1/2 st on both sides – 2 rows. (=21/23 sts). Bind off the remaining sts in one step.

Plackets
On the left shelf from the front side, pick up 54 sts and knit 5 rows in stockinette.

For the fold, knit: 2k, *2 together knitwise, YO* – finish with 3 knit stitches.

Then knit 5 rows in stockinette, bind off stitches, fold inward and sew.

On the right shelf from the front side, pick up 54 sts and knit 2 rows in stockinette. In the next row, make buttonholes (WS): (2 purls, YO, 2 together purl) – 3 rows, then purl stitches.
