Size: 98–104 cm
Bust circumference: 48–50 cm
Materials
-
Yarn: mink down, 350 m / 50 g
-
Usage: 2 skeins
-
Needles:
-
No. 3 — circulars
-
No. 4 — double-pointed (for sleeves)
-
No. 4 — 60 cm circular (for the frill)
-
-
Additionally: stitch markers, buttons
-
Thread: knit with one main strand + one extra strand
Process description
1. Neckline band
Cast on 80 stitches on needles No. 3.
Knit 5–6 cm garter stitch (the height of the stand-up collar depends on which collar you want — the stand-up folds in half).
2. Formation of the longitudinal placket
After knitting the neckline:
-
Add +5 stitches for the placket.
-
Knit 80 stitches in knit stitches.
-
On each side add another 5 stitches — these are the placket stitches, they are always knitted in garter stitch.
-
Mark the placket with markers.
Next row, work according to the pattern.
3. Allocation of stitches for the raglan
Refer to the chart (from the carousel): mark the raglan-line sections with markers.
Raglan increases are made in every right-side row.
Wrong-side rows — in pattern, with no increases.
4. Shaping the growth (gusset)
From the third row, begin knitting the growth (gusset) (according to the chart).
Important: in the growth rows raglan increases should continue to be performed.
5. Length of the raglan line
After completing the growth, continue knitting the raglan evenly.
The length of the raglan line from the neckline band should be 17 cm.
Joining the pieces and underarm openings
Now join the back with the fronts:
-
On the right needle, make 4 crossed yarn-overs — this is the underarm.
-
Knit the raglan stitches, remove the marker.
-
Slip the stitches of the first sleeve onto an extra yarn.
-
Knit the back stitches.
Next:
-
The stitches of the second sleeve are also moved to an extra yarn.
-
Again perform 4 crossed yarn-overs — underarm.
-
Join with the second front and knit the stitches of the front.
Body of the cardigan
Knit downward 9 cm in stockinette stitch.
After knitting 9 cm:
-
Knit 1 row on the right side in purl stitches — this is a preparatory row for the subsequent shaping of the frill.
Total number of stitches after completing all joins and the preparatory row:
142 stitches including the placket and selvage.
Lace pattern
To perform the lace pattern:
-
From 132 stitches (not counting the placket) evenly add 12 stitches,
-
It should result in 144 stitches — exactly 18 pattern repeats.
Lower part of the garment
Knit downward 6 pattern repeats — this is about 18 cm.
If you need it longer — knit to the desired length.
After this:
-
Knit 8 rows garter stitch,
-
Cast off stitches in any convenient way.
-
Sleeves
Transfer the sleeve stitches to Needles No. 4 double-pointed.
Also pick up the underarm stitches.Armhole decreases
-
First row — knit according to the pattern.
-
We need to decrease 4 stitches at the armhole, performing decreases.
We decrease as follows:
-
-
In the second row up to the marker:
-
1 decrease slanting left,
-
1 decrease slanting right.
-
-
-
Next row — no decreases.
-
In the next row — again repeat the decrease (1 left + 1 right).
After completing all 4 decreases, continue knitting in the round.
Sleeve length
Knit 18 cm from the underarm with knit stitches.
Then knit 10 rows garter stitch.Bind off stitches with an elastic method.
The finished sleeve should measure about 21 cm from the underarm.
-
-
Ruffle
On the needles we pick up a row of purl stitches, which had been set aside for the ruffle.
How to gather stitches
We pick up each wave (both bottom and top).
In the end you should have twice as many stitches as were knitted on the body.
This helps avoid additional increases.Knitting the ruffle
We knit the ruffle in stockinette stitch to the length you want (the author knitted 3 cm).
Before binding off:
-
On the wrong side we knit 1 row with knit stitches — this is to prevent the edge of the ruffle from curling.
Stitches are bound off in any convenient way.
The finished ruffle is sewn to the placket.
Stand-up collar
Fold the stand-up collar in half and sew it on the wrong side.
Hide the working yarn. The result is a double rib (double ribbing).
Into the stand we thread a ribbon using a pin.
The ribbon length used by the author is 1 meter. -
3.3 together with a slip 2 stitches
2 stitches slip onto the right needle, knit the third stitch. Pass the two slipped stitches over the knitted stitch and you will have one stitch
