Jacket
Knit back and forth on circular needles from the middle of the front to the armhole. Then the front and back parts are knitted separately, after which stitches are picked up on each side for the sleeves. The jacket is made with seams on the shoulders and underarm.
General part
Cast on 117-131-145 (155-169) stitches (including 6 stitches for the band on each side at the middle of the front) on 4 mm circular needles with Extra yarn.
Knit 6 rows in garter stitch — see above (the first row is knit).
AT THE SAME TIME, increase by 1 stitch before the 10th and after the 11th stitch from the middle of the front, repeat similar increases at the end of the row (before the 11th and after the 10th stitch from the edge of the piece – a total of + 4 stitches) = 121-135-149 (159-173) stitches.
Place a marker after 34-38-42 (44-48) stitches on each side (= 53-59-65 (71-77) stitches between markers on the back).
Knit the next wrong side row as follows: 6 garter stitches ( = front group), M.3 ( = 10 stitches), M.2 on the next 89-103-117 (127-141) stitches, M.1 ( = 10 stitches) and 6 garter stitches ( = front group).
Continue knitting according to the pattern and remember about the buttonholes — see above. REMEMBER about the knitting gauge!
At a height of 16-17-20 (23-25 ?) cm, divide the piece at the markers, then knit the front and back parts separately.
Right front
= 34-38-42 (44-48) stitches. Continue to knit according to the chart as before, simultaneously adding new stitches for the sleeve at the end of each wrong side row as follows: 4 stitches 2-2-3 (3-3) times, 8 stitches 1-1-1 (1-3) times, 10 stitches 1-1-1 (2-1) times, and 19-22-23 (23-24) stitches 1 time = 79-86-95 (107-118) stitches.
Note: knit the newly cast on stitches according to chart M.2 as per the pattern. After the last increase, knit as before, except for the last ten stitches to the edge of the sleeve – these stitches are knitted in garter stitch ( = cuff turn-up).
When there is 1 row left to reach the height of the piece 23-25-28 (32-35) cm – the next row should be wrong side – knit 2 stitches together through two knit stitches twice on 4 stitches of the band. (the knitting sequence is – 2 knit, 2 together, 2 knit, 2 together).
In the next right side row, place 9-11-12 (12-13) stitches on a stitch holder at the middle of the front.
Next, shape the neckline curve, decreasing at the beginning of the row in the middle of the front: 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 2-2-3 (3-3) times = 62-67-74 (86-96) stitches remaining on the needle ( = shoulder + sleeve).
Continue to knit according to the chart in M.2 and bind off when the piece reaches a length of 27-29-33 (37-40) cm.
Left front
Knit as the right front, but mirrored.
Back part
= 53-59-65 (71-77) stitches.
Continue to knit according to chart M.2 as before, while casting on stitches for the sleeves on each side at the end of each row, as described for the fronts = 143-155-171 (197-217) stitches.
Now knit according to chart M.2 with 10 garter stitches on each side of the sleeves (cuff turn-up).
At a height of 25-27-31 (35-38) cm, bind off the middle 17-19-21 (23-23) stitches of the neckline and finish each shoulder/sleeve separately.
For rounding, bind off 1 stitch at the neckline in the next row = 62-67-74 (86-96) stitches left on the needle ( = shoulder + sleeve).
Bind off the stitches when the piece reaches a length of 27-29-33 (37-40) cm.
Repeat on the other side.
Assembly
Sew the shoulder seams/sleeve seams, edge to edge with neat stitches.
Sew the underarm seams.
Sew on the buttons.
Turn up the sleeve cuffs, securing them with a few stitches if necessary.
Hood
Cast on approximately 55-75 stitches at the neckline (including stitches from the stitch holder at the front) on 4 mm circular needles.
Knit two rows in knit – with the wrong side and the right side.
AT THE SAME TIME, evenly increase 85-89-93 (97-101) stitches.
Continue to knit according to chart M.2 with 6 stitches in garter stitch on each side. AT THE SAME TIME, cast on another 6 new stitches at the end of the next 2 rows for the fold = 97-101-105 (109-113) stitches and knit these 6 stitches in garter stitch.
Continue to knit according to chart M.2 with 12 garter stitches on each side until the hood reaches a length of 21-23-25 ??(27-28) cm.
Bind off the stitches.
Fold the hood and sew at the very top.
Turn down the edge knitted in garter stitch and secure it down at the neckline on each side.
If necessary, secure along the length of the hood turn-up with a few stitches.
