Description:
The back and both shelves are knitted as a single piece up to the armholes. On 4 mm needles, cast on 145 stitches using the Italian method, knitting only 2 rows of the hollow rib instead of the usual 4. After that, switch to 5 mm needles and knit in garter stitch until the length of the fabric reaches 19 cm.
In the next right side row, make 4 opposite pleats according to pattern 2. Knit the wrong side row with knit stitches, tightening the pleat stitches tightly.
From the next row, knit ribbing 1?1, starting and ending with a knit stitch, not counting the edge stitches. Knit 8 rows in total.
After that, continue knitting in garter stitch, placing a braid (pattern 1) above each pleat as follows:
Edge stitch, 5 knit, add a stitch from the yarn over, 9 stitches of the braid, add a stitch from the yarn over, 17 knit, add a stitch from the yarn over, 9 stitches of the braid, add a stitch from the yarn over, 15 knit, add a stitch from the yarn over, 9 stitches of the braid, add a stitch from the yarn over, 17 knit, add a stitch from the yarn over. 9 stitches of the braid, add a stitch from the yarn over, 5 knit, edge stitch. In total, there will be 105 stitches on the needles.
The stitches added before and after each braid should be knitted in a way that they appear as purl stitches from the front side.
Knit in this manner for 5 cm (14 rows).
After that, divide the fabric into three parts, closing 10 stitches for the armholes. Each shelf should have 17 stitches left. Then you can knit simultaneously from three balls or finish each section separately.
From the top edge of the ribbing to the shoulder, knit 17 cm, closing 1?3 stitches, 1?2 stitches, and 1?1 stitches for the neckline from the inner edge of each shelf. Close 11 stitches for the shoulder, transferring the remaining stitches to an additional needle or contrasting thread.
Sleeves:
On 4 mm needles, cast on 36 stitches and knit 7 cm in 2?2 ribbing. Continue with 5 mm needles in garter stitch, increasing 4 times by 1 stitch at the edges in every 6th row.
At a distance of 9 cm from the ribbing, knit:
Edge stitch 15 knit, add a stitch from the yarn over, 9 stitches of the braid, add a stitch from the yarn over, 16 knit, edge stitch.
At a height of 23 cm from the ribbing, close 1 time for 3 stitches, 2 times for 2 stitches, and at a total height of the sleeve of 36 cm, close the remaining stitches.
Knit the second sleeve similarly.
Hood:
Transfer the neck stitches to 5 mm needles and knit in garter stitch, adding 4 times 1 stitch on both sides of the central stitch. Then knit straight. At a height of 23 cm, fold the fabric in half and close the stitches using a third needle.
Assembly:
Make shoulder seams, sew the sleeves and set them into the armholes.
Along the edge of the first shelf, the hood, and the second shelf, pick up stitches with 3.5 mm needles and knit 4 cm in 2x2 ribbing. Then, close the stitches of the band with a needle, adjusting the density of the edge. Sew on decorative buttons and transparent buttons inside at their level.
