Very cute and beautiful look tiny socks knitted with needles for newborns. Usually, booties are knitted for newborns, but small socks can also be knitted for little ones. Such socks are not difficult to knit for anyone. To knit socks for newborns with needles, soft yarn of any shade and 5 identical needles are necessary. There are several options for knitting socks for newborns with needles. 1 option for knitting socks for newborns Before we start knitting the socks, let's first knit a sample, wash it, and dry it; from this sample, we will calculate the required number of stitches. Usually, it turns out to be 32 stitches. The thickness of the yarn and its composition are of great importance. For socks, it is best to use wool yarn, and there is no need to choose too thick yarn. We distribute all stitches onto 4 needles, securing each row. We start by knitting any ribbing. But for newborn socks, a 1x1 ribbing will look beautiful. This means that 1 stitch is knit, and the other is purl. For convenience and beauty, we knit the ribbing to a length of 10 cm to create a cuff. After finishing the ribbing, we knit 5 rows of stockinette stitch. Before starting to knit the heel, we divide the number of stitches into two parts, leaving one part on the needles. We continue to knit the second part of the sock on two needles in stockinette stitch for about 10 rows. Then we divide these stitches into three parts, creating the side parts and the middle part. We continue to knit the middle part. With each row, we gradually knit the stitches that remain on the side parts. This will create the heel of the sock for the newborn. We return to the first part that we left earlier. We knit 16 stitches, then pick up 5 stitches on the side part, then knit the middle part, and then pick up 5 stitches from the heel. The product will again have the original composition of 32 stitches. We continue to knit the foot arch to a length of about 5 cm, then we start to decrease the number of stitches. To decrease stitches, we knit 2 stitches together on each needle first; this will give the toe an elongated pointed shape. We pull the last stitch tight and weave it to the wrong side. Upper part: we cast on 112 stitches and knit as follows: Row 1: * 2 knit stitches, 1 stitch over 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * to the end of the row, Row 2: purl stitches. Heel: in the next knit row, we knit 8 stitches and leave 20 stitches on a helper needle. Then we knit another 7 rows of stockinette stitch. In the next row, we first knit 3 knit stitches, 1 stitch is slipped onto the right needle, 1 knit stitch, we pull it through the slipped stitch, turn the work, and knit another 4 purl stitches, repeating all this 3 times. After finishing the last decrease, we do not knit the purl rows. With the right needle, we knit 7 knit stitches at the edge of the last 8 stitches, then we knit 20 stitches from the helper needle. Then in the next purl row, we knit 8 purl stitches and slip the remaining 23 stitches onto the helper needle. On the 8 stitches, we knit another 7 rows of stockinette stitch. In the following purl row, we first knit 3 purl stitches, 2 purl stitches together, turn the product, 4 knit stitches, and repeat all this 3 times. After finishing the last decrease, we do not knit the knit rows. Along the edge of the last remaining 8 stitches, we knit 7 stitches and slip them onto the helper needle. Then we knit in stockinette stitch, making decreases in each knit row as follows: 9 knit stitches, 2 knit stitches together, 12 knit stitches, 1 stitch is slipped onto the right needle, 1 knit stitch, and we pull it through the slipped stitch, 9 knit stitches, then we repeat everything again. When decreasing, we knit 2 knit stitches together, and after a simple decrease, we knit 1 stitch less. Toe: in each last knit row, we make a decrease as follows: 3 knit stitches, 2 knit stitches together, 4 knit stitches, 1 stitch is slipped onto the right needle, 1 knit stitch, we pull it through the slipped stitch, 3 knit stitches. Second decrease: 2 knit stitches, 2 knit stitches together, 4 knit stitches, 1 stitch is slipped onto the right needle, 1 knit stitch, we pull it through the slipped stitch, 2 knit stitches. Third decrease: 1 knit stitch, 2 knit stitches together, 4 knit stitches, 1 stitch is slipped onto the right needle, 1 knit stitch, we pull it through the slipped stitch, 1 knit stitch. The second sock is knitted exactly the same way. Any type of patterns is suitable for knitting socks for newborns; choose according to your taste. Newborn socks can be decorated with cords with tassels, various appliqués, lace, and the edges can be finished with a hook.
