Hat and Snood for a Girl

A warm hat-and-snood set knitted with needles. The model is inspired by children's accessories from the German store Adelleo. Inside, the hat is lined with soft fleece, making it ideal for cool weather.

Size: head circumference 48–50 cm.
Yarn: children's, soft, not itchy. Suitable, for example, Alize Baby Wool (for 50–52 cm) or Gazzal Baby Wool (for 44–48 cm).
Needles: circular No. 2–2.5.
Additionally: a large pom-pom.

How to knit the hat

1. Cast on with the Italian method 128 stitches.

2. Knit a 1×1 rib (1 knit, 1 purl) — 12 rows.

3. Then knit according to the pattern chart, repeating the motif 4 times across the width.

4. When the hat reaches 20 cm in height, decrease all stitches by knitting two together.

5. Cut the yarn, thread it through the remaining stitches, pull tight and fasten off.

6. Sew in a pink fleece lining.

How to knit the snood

1. Cast on 160 stitches.

2. Knit in the same pattern according to the chart.

3. Repeat the motif 5 times across the width.

4. When the length reaches 18 cm, bind off the stitches.
