Cast on an even number of stitches multiple of 4 + 1 stitch (I have 88+1, for a head circumference of 50 cm,
needles 5,
my gauge is 1.5 stitches per 1 cm).

Join the stitches in a circle (using the extra stitch) and knit the hat in a round ribbing 1/1, approximately 24 (27 for an adult) cm.

Next, we distribute the markers as follows:

divide our stitches into two halves, front and back;
now, in each part, highlight an odd number of stitches (purl / knit / purl) I have 19 (the smaller the number of stitches in the middle, the sharper the crown of the hat);

mark the centers, front and back with markers (they remain unchanged until the end)

it turns out that in each part, and in the center of the crown, we have an odd number of stitches (I have 19), and from crown to crown also (I have 25) 25/19/25/19;

we start to shape the crown by decreasing along these 19 stitches (in my case);

to shape the crown, we decrease two stitches in each row, before and after the central part, highlighted with markers
when there are three stitches left on each side of the "crown," highlighted with markers, we make the last decreases.

On each side, we decrease only one stitch!!! So that there are two stitches left on each side!!!

you should have left on the needles:
19 (in my case) stitches on both sides (front and back) - This is Our «Crown» and on the sides of the Crown two
knit stitches;

now we close the crown, distributing the stitches as follows:

On an additional needle, separate the knit (+ those two on the edges that are behind the markers) and purl stitches,

Leave the knit stitches outside, and send the purl stitches inside the hat (it’s better to put these stitches on a pin), do the same on the other side of the hat.

Now from the front side of the hat - sew the stitches of the front part of the crown with the back part, stitch by stitch on the knit stitches.

Turn the hat inside out and do the same.
