This description is based on a head circumference of 54 cm. If you need a larger size, replace the needle size (by changing the size of the needles by 0.5, you will knit a hat for a head circumference of 55-56) or use thicker yarn.

Knitting gauge: 14 stitches of the pattern in width = 4.5 cm, 20 rows of the pattern in height = 5 cm.

Yarn: Lana Gatto Super Soft, 1 skein of each color. This is the amount needed for a children's hat. For a larger size, you will need a little more yarn (about 130 g). As an alternative, you can use Vita Sapphire yarn.

Needles: ribbing is knitted with 2.5 mm needles, the main fabric - with 3.0 mm needles

On 2.5 mm needles cast on 130 stitches plus 1 stitch to close the knitting in a circle and knit ribbing 1x1 to a height of 7 cm.

The next 3 rows fix the cuff - knit the purl stitch, slip the knit stitch, yarn behind the slipped stitch.

Continue knitting ribbing 1x1 for another 5.5 cm. In the last row of ribbing, switch to 3.0 mm needles and evenly increase by 10 stitches. You will have 140 stitches on the needles.

If you also want to knit a cuff of a different color, now is the time to introduce a thread of a different shade.

Let's start knitting the pattern (the pattern repeat is 14 stitches wide and 20 rows high).

There is a video tutorial for the pattern
