Row 35: 5 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, increase 1 st in each st., until the last 8 sts, 2 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, bind off 2 sts, 2 knit.

Row 36: 2 knit, cast on 2 sts, knit until the end of the row (315 sts on the needle). Switch to 3.25 mm needles and knit 4 complete repeats (16 rows) of the lace pattern. From the front side of the garment, slip the first 51 sts onto a yarn for the left front half, slip the next 60 sts onto a holder for the left sleeve, slip the next 93 sts for the back onto yarn, slip the next 60 sts for the right sleeve onto another yarn, slip the remaining 51 sts for the right front half onto yarn from the back and left front side.

For the sleeve: From the front side facing you, attach another ball of yarn to the 60 sts on the holder. Using 3.25 mm needles, start with the first row of the pattern, continue, evenly knitting the lace pattern for about 4 1/2 inches from the separation for the sleeves, finish with the 1st or 3rd row of the pattern.

Switch to 2.75 mm needles for the next row: 2 knit, * 2 purl together, 1 knit. Repeat from * until the last 4 sts, 2 purl together, 2 knit together (40 sts on the needle).

Knit 9 rows of ribbing (1 knit, 1 purl). Bind off according to the pattern without pulling tight.

Slip the 60 sts left for the right sleeve onto the needle and knit like the previous sleeve.

For the body, slip the remaining 195 sts onto the needle, using 3.25 mm needles and the attached ball of yarn to the left front half, continue evenly knitting the lace pattern for a height of 5 inches from the separation for the sleeves. Join the sleeves with the front side facing you, crochet 1 row of single crochet around the entire sweater, around the neckline, if necessary sew on buttons.
