First tip. A ball of yarn, as you know, has 2 ends: one on the outside, the other hidden inside the ball. Look for and gently pull the end that is inside. Join the ends together and knit from one ball, using the yarn doubled. Very convenient!
Second tip. The heel knitted using the "boomerang" method was a revelation for me! Look how great and neat it looks! I found an accessible description on the internet. Huge THANK YOU to the author for their work! For some reason, I couldn't knit a double stitch. So I used the advice of knitter LanaItia: "You can knit a single stitch instead of a double stitch as described above, or make an increase from the row below. To me, it's easier, and it turns out without holes and neat." I provide the front and back side of the product.
Third tip. When you start knitting the toe, the number of stitches on the needles decreases more and more. The needles keep slipping out, and I have to catch the stitches quite often. This is distracting, annoying, and requires extra time. I remembered the advice from a doll maker from Osinka (too bad I didn’t remember the name!), to knit with toothpicks. Very convenient! Despite the fact that toothpicks are thinner and more delicate than needles, none broke during the knitting process, and the stitches didn’t slip off!
About the toe. I shaped the toe starting from the top of the pinky. I made decreases every second row. For this, I knitted the first 2 stitches of the 1st needle, the last 2 stitches of the 2nd needle, and, accordingly, the first 2 stitches of the 3rd needle, the last 2 stitches of the 4th needle together. It seems to me that this looks cuter. We make decreases until there are 3 stitches left on each needle (toothpick). Then we transfer all the stitches to one needle, alternating stitches from the sole side and the instep side. We pull the yarn through all the stitches using a hook and secure the end.
