Booties crocheted by Megan Mills
You'll need: 2 x 25-gram skeins of Patons Dream Time baby wool and a 2.5 m hook
To knit the daisy pattern well, do not knit too tightly. The stitch pulled from the same place where the last daisy finished should be slightly longer than all the other stitches.
Sole, insole:
1st round: Cast on 20 ch very loosely. 1 half double crochet in the third stitch from the hook, 1 double crochet in each of the next 16 stitches, 4 half double crochets in the next stitch. Now crochet on the other side of the main chain 1 double crochet in each of the next 16 stitches and 1 half double crochet in the same place where the first stitch of the round was made. Join the round with a slip stitch in the second stitch at the beginning of the round.
2nd round: 3 ch, 1 double crochet in the same stitch, 2 double crochets in each of the next 3 stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the next 13 stitches, 2 double crochets in each of the next 7 stitches, 1 double crochet in the next 13 stitches, 2 double crochets in each of the next 2 stitches. Join the round with a slip stitch in the third stitch at the beginning of the round.
3rd round: slip stitch in the next stitch, 3 ch, 2 double crochets in each of the next 5 stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the 16 stitches, 2 double crochets in each of the next 10 stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the next 16 stitches, 2 double crochets in each of the next 4 stitches, 1 double crochet in the next stitch (in the base of 3 stitches). Join the round with a slip stitch in the third stitch at the beginning of the round. Now there are 72 stitches.
Side:
4th round: Start the round with the initial daisy - 2 ch (keep the third stitch looser, so it can be knitted comfortably), insert the hook through the back loop of the second stitch from the hook, yarn over and pull it through the stitch, insert the hook behind the back loop of the next stitch, yarn over and pull it through the stitch, insert the hook into the back stitch of the same space where the third stitch started, yarn over and pull it through the stitch, (insert the hook behind the back loop of the next stitch, yarn over and pull it through the stitch) twice, yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on the hook, 1 ch and continue to knit daisies (each subsequent daisy is knitted as follows: insert the hook from the left through the ch that was just made, yarn over and pull it through the stitch, insert the hook from the left into just one part on the left side of the last daisy (this is where the last stitch was pulled by the previous daisy), yarn over and pull it through the stitch, insert the hook in the same place where the last daisy finished, yarn over and pull it through the stitch, (insert the hook into the back loop of the next stitch, yarn over and pull it through the stitch) twice, yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on the hook, make 1 ch.) and so on. Join the round with a single crochet in the third ch of the initial daisy at the beginning of the round. There should be 36 daisies.
Here is a video on how to crochet daisies
5th round: 1 ch, 1 single crochet in the top of the same daisy, *1 single crochet in the same stitch, 1 single crochet in the top of the next daisy, repeat from * around the entire round and finish the row with 1 single crochet in the next stitch. Join the round with a slip stitch in the back loop of the first single crochet.
6th round: repeat the 4th round.
7th round: treating the ch and tops of the daisies as in the 5th round, 1 ch, 10 single crochets with decreases (crocheting 2 single crochets together), 1 single crochet in each of the next 36 stitches, crocheting 2 single crochets 8 times. Join the edge with a slip stitch in the first single crochet with decrease at the beginning of the row. Now there are 54 stitches left.
Raising the boot:
1st row: 1 ch, 1 single crochet in the same stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, turn.
2nd row: 1 ch, crochet in each stitch and behind the back loop with 1 single crochet all the way up and then 1 single crochet in the next 2 free stitches on the side, turn.
3rd row: 1 ch, crochet in each stitch and behind the front loop with 1 single crochet all the way up and then 1 single crochet in the next free stitch on the side, turn.
4th row: 1 ch, crochet in each stitch and behind the back loop with 1 single crochet all the way up and then 1 single crochet in the next free stitch on the side, turn.
You will see that in each row the number of stitches on the rise increases with each knitted row. Repeat rows 3 and 4 until there are 11 stitches on the rise. Now until the 18th row, skip the first stitch after turning, so that the number of stitches remains constant (i.e. 11) and continue to join the side as you knit. The connecting stitch will be counted as the 12th stitch.
At the end of the 18th row, 1 single crochet in the free stitch on the side and then 1 single crochet in the next stitch as well.
Row with holes for ties
3 ch, turn, skip the next 2 single crochets, (1 double crochet in the next single crochet on the rise, 1 ch, skip 1 single crochet on the rise) x 5 times, 1 ch, 1 double crochet in the last stitch used on the side and at the same time passing through the turning stitch from rows 17-18, 1 ch, skip 1 single crochet on the side, 1 double crochet in the next single crochet. (1 ch, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet) x 15 times, 1 ch. Finish the round with a single crochet behind the front loop of the second stitch at the beginning of the round. Now there should be 22 holes for ties.
Cuff:
1st round: treating each double crochet and each ch as a stitch, start the round with the initial daisy and continue to knit daisies all the way around. Close the round with a single crochet in the third stitch of the initial daisy at the very beginning of the round. There should be 22 daisies.
2nd round: (1 ch, 1 single crochet in the top of each daisy, *1 single crochet in the next stitch, 1 single crochet in the top of the next daisy, repeat from * around the entire round and finish with 1 single crochet in the next stitch. Join the round with a slip stitch in the first single crochet.
3-6 rounds: repeat the 1st and 2nd rows two more times.
Note: if you want the cuff longer or shorter, you can knit more or fewer rounds with daisies.
Finishing for the cuff:
*1 single crochet in the top of the daisy, 3 ch, single crochet in the same place where the previous single crochet was made. Repeat from * around the entire round. Cut the yarn.
Finishing: weave in all ends. Insert ribbon or any ties of your choice into the holes. Knit the other bootie in the same way.
Bow (tie)
*40 ch, crocheting behind the back loop 6 single crochets in the second stitch from the hook and continuing along the entire chain with either slip stitches or single crochets (depending on how thick you want the tie) in each stitch to the end. Do not turn. Repeat from * and you will have tied the entire tie and the first half will be in the middle of the tie. Cut the yarn and secure the ends.
Options:
you can make them in different colors and the sole/insole is crocheted into the back loops. The finishing of the cuff is knitted immediately after one round of daisies after the round with holes for ties.
cast on 22 stitches and knit as follows
9 stitches in garter stitch (knit on both sides)
8 stitches in knit
5 stitches in garter stitch.
Purl rows according to the pattern.
Twist the braid every 10 rows.
Knit 7 braids. Finish knitting.
Cast on 36 stitches along the edge, take the central 10 stitches and
knit 14 rows in stockinette stitch (this is the tongue), but it should be on the purl side. And on the front side should be stockinette stitch.
In rows 11 and 13, decrease by 1 stitch from each edge, so that there are 6 stitches on the needle.
Next, we cast on stitches along the edge of the tongue, I ended up with 7 stitches. In total, we have 13 stitches + 7 stitches + 6 stitches + 7 stitches + 13 stitches totaling 46 stitches.
Knit 46 stitches for 12 rows in garter stitch.
Next, take 6 stitches from the center and start knitting the sole, increasing stitches to make it 10 stitches.
Knit the sole until 6 stitches remain on the right and left needles. Start decreasing the stitches of the sole to 6 stitches.
Close the 6 stitches of the sole, and attach the remaining stitches on the needles to the sole.
Cast on stitches along the edge of the sole from the braid for the cuff, I cast on over 4 needles and knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch.
Close all stitches, yes I added 1 stitch from the wrap at the beginning of each needle so that the cuff does not pull. Close the stitches loosely.
Twist the cuff. I did not sew it on, it seems to fit well.
On the purl side, from the side of 5 stitches, I cast on 36 stitches along the edge and knitted 3 rows in knit, closed them and sewed along the edge of the braid.
You will get a tuck where you can pass the ribbon.
Work by Marina Ordina
I decided to knit in the style of "Bunny" booties, i.e. from the bottom. I took yarn for the sole and decoration YarnArt Merino De Luxe (50% acrylic, 50% wool, 100g 280m)
And for the top, I used Alize Lana Gold Classic (50% wool, 50% acrylic, 100g 240m). Sock needles size 2 (whatever I had))))
Sole.
My son's foot is 13cm. We knit the sole in garter stitch (all stitches knit)
I cast on 7 stitches
1st row - all knit
2nd, 4th, 6th rows make increases by 1 stitch near the edges.
Next, knit 34 rows.
Make two increases by 1 stitch near the edges and knit 20 more rows. Decrease by 1 stitch (knitting 2 stitches together) near the edges every row until there are 8 stitches left on the needle. Close all stitches.
Base of the bootie. Cast on stitches from the sole in beige color so that there are 15 stitches on the top and an even number of stitches on the other needles. Knit 10 rows in "Rice" (1 knit, 1 purl, in the following rows the opposite).
Next, we knit the toe.
For the toe, I have 15 stitches. Knit like the heel of a sock.
1st row - 1 purl, 6 knit, 1 purl, 6 knit, 2 together purl (knitting 15 stitches of the toe with the first stitch of the next needle), turn the knitting
2nd row - edge, 6 purl, 1 knit, 6 purl, 2 together knit (15 stitches of the toe with the first stitch of the next needle). Repeat until the 5th row.
5th row - edge, slip 3 stitches onto an extra needle behind the work and knit the next 3 stitches; knit the stitches from the extra needle; 1 purl, slip stitches onto an extra needle in front of the knitting, knit the next 3 stitches, knit the stitches from the extra needle; 2 together purl.
Knit according to the pattern. Make the next crossing in the 13th row (after 7 rows).
Knit in this manner until there are 11 stitches left on the side needles.
For a trial version, I did not make the booties tall. If you want them taller, increase the number of rows. Knit 11 rows around with 11 stitches in 1x1 ribbing, 15 stitches of the toe (the 1st and 15th stitches knit in "Rice"), 22 stitches in 1x1 ribbing.
Next, switch to stockinette stitch where you knitted ribbing. Knit 7 more rows.
To ensure that the cuff of the bootie is not too wide, you need to make decreases. I made 1 decrease at the beginning and end of each needle. Next, knit around in "Rice" for 10 rows. Then knit 1 row with knit stitches and another 10 rows in "Rice". Finish knitting.
Put the needles aside and crochet with contrasting yarn 1 row of half double crochets. And with the main color yarn, finish the edge with "Crab stitch". Do the same for the sole.
