Lace tunic with asymmetric length

The lace insert uses the technique of knitting lace motifs with needles from the center.

Sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium. The photo shows size X-Small.

Dimensions of the product:

• bust line: 78.5 (86, 92.5) cm.
• length (from shoulder to the end of the lace insert) 86 (87.5, 89) cm.
• sleeve length: 30.5 (32.5, 34.5) cm.

Materials:

• 6 (7, 8) skeins of Lorna Laces Pearl yarn (100g/201m, silk, bamboo)
• set of double-pointed needles (5 pcs.) 4 mm.
• circular needles 4 mm long 40, 60, and 120 cm.
• hook 5.5 mm.

 Work density:

22 sts and 25 rows = 10 cm, stockinette stitch, with 4 mm needles.

Note:

• The lace insert is knitted from the center according to the chart or written instructions. Only even rows are shown in the chart. All odd rows, except for the 21st row, are knitted in knit stitches.
• After completing the lace insert, the sleeves and side sections of the front and back are made from top to bottom with raglan shaping.
• Pass: 2 sts together knitwise with a left-leaning decrease: slip 1 st, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch.
• Two double decreases used throughout the pattern: S2KP – standard double decrease: slip 2 sts as if to knit them together, knit 1, pass the slipped stitches over; SK2P – slanting double decrease: slip the next st knitwise, knit 2 together, pass the slipped st over.

Lace insert (2 pieces). Cast on 8 sts, distribute evenly on 4 double-pointed needles, join in the round, ensuring that the stitches are not twisted. Note: repeat the instructions 4 times for each round. When the piece is large enough, switch to circular needles (start with 40 cm, then move to longer needles), marking each repeat. Knit from the center as follows:

1st and all odd rounds: knit st.

2nd round: 1 knit, yarn over, 1 knit.

4th round: 1 knit, (yarn over, 1 knit) 2 times.

6th round: 1 knit, (1 knit, yarn over) 2 times, 2 knits.

8th round: 3 knits, yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, 3 knits.

10th round: 1 knit, yarn over, 3 knits, yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, 3 knits, yarn over, 1 knit.

12th round: 1 knit, yarn over, 5 knits, yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, 5 knits, yarn over, 1 knit.

67th round: knit in the round, removing old markers and placing new ones: 115 knits, marker, 161 knits, marker, 44 knits.

68th round: loosely bind off 115 sts to the first marker (attach a pin to the 35th st of the bound-off stitches to mark the center of the neckline). Work the leaf pattern on the middle 161 sts, bind off the last 44 sts. Cut the yarn.

69th round: join the yarn from the wrong side to the remaining stitches and knit, this and all wrong rows are purl stitches.

70-80th rows: knit rows 2-12 of the leaf pattern according to the chart, bind off all stitches loosely.

Right raglan yoke. Cast on 27 (31, 35) sts.

1st (wrong) row: 15 (17, 19) purls (back side), mark this place, 8 purls (sleeve), mark, 4 (6, 8) purls (front side).

2nd row: 1 knit, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, knit until the end of the row, = 29 (33, 37) sts.

3rd and all wrong rows: purl sts.

4th row: 1 knit, inc1 (= increase 1 knit through the back of the horizontal thread between the stitches), pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1st st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, knit until the end of the row, = 32 (36, 40) sts.

13th row: purl sts.

14th row: 10 (12, 14) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, 10 (12, 14) knits.

Repeat rows 13 and 14 another 18 (20, 22) times, = 84 (92, 100) sts - 13 (15, 17) sts for the front, 58 (62, 66) sts for the sleeve, 13 (15, 17) sts for the back. Remove all markers. Knit straight in stockinette stitch on all stitches until 23 (24, 25.5) cm from the cast-on row, finish on a purl row.

Separation for the sleeve and execution of the side wedges.

Next (knit) row: 13 (15, 17) knits, place the next 58 (62, 66) sts on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 8 sts for the armhole, 13 (15, 17) knits.

1st row: 34(38, 42) purls.

2nd row: 1 knit, pass, knit until the last 3 sts, 2 sts together knitwise, 1 knit.

3, 5, 7 and 9th rows: purl sts.

4, 6 and 8th rows: knit sts. Repeat rows 2-9 another 4 times.

Repeat rows 2-7 a total of 9 times, then repeat rows 2 and 3 1 (3, 5) times, = 4 sts.

Next (knit) row: 1 knit, 2 sts together knitwise, 1 knit. Next row: 3 sts together purl, finish the work.

Left raglan yoke.

Cast on 27 (32, 35) sts.

1st (wrong) row: 4 (6, 8) purls (front), marker, 8 purls (sleeve), marker, 15 (17, 19) purls (back).

2nd row: 12 (14, 16) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, 1 knit.

3rd and all wrong rows: purl sts.

4th row: 12 (14, 16) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, inc1, 1 knit.

6th and 8th rows: 12 (14, 16) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, knit until the last st, inc1, 1 knit.

10th row: 1 knit, pass, 9 (11, 13) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, knit until the last st, inc1, 1 knit.

12th row: 1 knit, pass, 8 (10, 12) knits, pass, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, knit until 1 st before the marker, yarn over, 1 knit, marker, yarn over, 2 sts together knitwise, knit until the end of the row, cast on 5 sts at the end of the row.

Complete as for the right raglan, but in mirror image.

Sleeves.

Using 40 cm circular needles, cast on 4 sts for the armhole, knit st along the set-aside 58 (62, 66) sts of the sleeve, cast on 4 sts for the armhole, = 66 (70, 74) sts. Join in the round and mark the beginning of the round.

1-5th round: knit st.

6th round with decreases: pass, knit until the last 3 sts (note from the translator: 2!), 2 sts together knitwise.

Repeat rounds 1-6 another 8 (6, 3) times, then repeat the 6th round with decreases in every 4th round 0 (4, 9) times, = 48 sts.

Knit straight until 23 (24, 25.5) cm from the cast-on row of the armhole.

Work the leaf pattern according to the chart, repeating the repeat of 8 sts 6 times.

Note: in the 7th, 9th, and 11th rounds, slip the sts after the marker as purls onto the left needle (note from the translator: onto the right needle!), placing the marker for the new beginning of the round. Complete rounds 1-12 of the chart 2 times. Bind off all stitches loosely.

Finishing work.

Wet the pieces, lay them out according to the pattern, and dry.

Complete the center seam of the back neckline of the yokes for 2.5 cm to the marked stitch. Attach the lace insert to the back, aligning the center of the back neckline with the marked bound-off stitch of the lace insert and sew down to the "Leaves" edging, repeat on the other side. Attach the lace insert to the front as follows: connect the cast-on edge of the neckline of the front yoke with the marked bound-off stitch of the 2nd lace insert and sew down to the edge. Continue the side seam, joining the "Leaves" edging of the lace inserts. Repeat on the other side. Crochet with a 5.5 mm hook, making 1 round of slip stitches in each st around the neckline.
